Rohit Sharma (India Captain): Very very pleased. We came here and wanted to achieve something as a group in white ball cricket. Moving forward we have to improve a lot on a few certain areas but very proud of the boys. We were here last time and were beaten, I remember. It's not an easy place to win games but I thought the way we played this entire white ball leg was fantastic. It was something we wanted to do for a long time and to finally come and achieve that is great. It was a good pitch but we do understand that it's not going to easy if we lose wickets upfront. If you look at the positive side of it, a lot of these guys hadn't batted together in the middle-overs. Today we got to see that from Hardik and Rishabh. Quite pleased with both of them - they were clinical with the bat and at no point did we feel they were panicking. They were just playing cricketing shots all the way through. (On Chahal) He's a critical member for us. He's got so much experience bowling for us in the white ball formats. It was very unfortunate that he missed it (the T20 World Cup) but he's come back really well. Hardik has bowled really well - he used the short ball and one side of the boundary very well. (On the top-order collapses) It is something that we need to look into. To be quite honest, the wicket didn't have that much in it. We played some not so good shots upfront and that cost us wickets. We need to learn and understand what to do in certain situations but I still back those guys to come good since they've done it over a long period of time in all conditions. I do understand the quality that they bring to the team and it's just about backing those guys. (Happy ahead of the two World Cups?) To be honest, yes. We've got some solid guys sitting on the bench who've been waiting for a long time. They've performed every time they've got an opportunity. Injuries are bound to happen and we have to manage the workload of certain players as well. Your bench strength has to be ready. They'll get their opportunity in West Indies now when we travel there.

Jos Buttler (England Captain): I thought we were short and we were going to need a good start which we got. Fantastic from the new ball bowlers but that partnership took the game away from us. Full credit to them. Throughout the summer we haven't batted at our best. We just had to bat a lot longer. (On Reece Topley) He's been brilliant. He's got his opportunity, put in a Man of the Match performance at Trent Bridge as well so credit to him. (Why did he bowl just the 7 overs?) We were just searching for ways to take wickets and Reece is creaking a little bit as well so we have to look after him. There was a half-chance of Hardik Pandya down to fine leg. If we took those chances we could have got close. With the score we had, we had to take all our chances. (On his game) It's absolutely fine to be honest. I missed a chance today but it hasn't got anything to do with captaincy. I'm still a young captain so I've got a lot of time to learn with experience. (On the return of Adil Rashid) We move on quickly and Rash has probably been the most important player in our setup. Great to have him back.

Hardik Pandya is the Player of the Series for his all-round exploits throughout the three-match rubber. Hear from the man: White ball cricket is very close to me and I've cherished it. Absolutely thrilled because we all know how good a team England is. It was important for us to test our strengths ahead of the World Cup as well. It was the ideal situation for everyone to step up and show their skills. It was important for me to stop the runs and bowl as many dots as I could. Although we took two wickets with the new ball it was important for me to do my job. It's simple for me - I love the short ball. I think we are good pals (laughs when asked about his battle with Liam Livingstone). He likes to take his chance as well. Some shots that he plays...as a bowler I am fooled but I always believe I can take wickets. (On Pant's innings) We all know what kind of talent he has. Today he was playing the situation and at one point of time, the understanding was we had to build a partnership. That partnership changed the game and brought us into the game.

Rishabh Pant is the Player of the Match for his belligerent unbeaten 125. Here's what he has to say: Hopefully I'll remember this for the rest of my live. When I was in I wasn't thinking of anything. I just wanted to focus one ball at a time and pace the innings. When your team is under pressure and you bat like that, that is something I aspire to do - to do well in pressure situations. Glad I helped my team cross the line today. I always enjoy playing in England. Just enjoying the wicket and the atmosphere here is wonderful. I'll keep doing whatever I can from my side to enjoy. The more you play the more experience you get and as a player you keep improving day by day. As a player that's what I'm looking forward to. Take nothing away from the bowlers on a wicket like this. Not the best wicket to bat on but the bowlers still bowled well to restrict them to 260. Not only in this match or series but they've bowled well throughout the year.

The start to the run-chase was all too similar to the one that transpired three days ago. The Indian top order, which has been the engine for India in steep run-chases almost over the last decade or so, fell in quick succession. Dhawan picked out Roy at point, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli got off to half-decent starts and nicked to the cordon behind, all of which came off the bowling of the same individual who wreaked havoc at Lord's, Reece Topley. He hit the pitch hard, played with the angle against the right-handers and reaped the rewards once again!

Brydon Carse and Craig Overton, two more hit the deck bowlers, came into the attack and caused further discomfort, something that eventually accounted for Suryakumar Yadav, as he fended at one that kicked off the wicket from Craig Overton. India were reeling at 72 for 4, and memories of Lord's were starting to rush back.

But then, Hardik Pandya walked in and straight away started to play himself in. There were absolutely no agricultural swipes, nothing cheeky from either of the two, although Pant escaped a stumping chance trying to mow Moeen out of the ground. Who would have thought that that would pave the way for such a memorable knock!

Pandya found the boundaries, Pant played a supportive role to perfection, as the partnership started to grow further. England rotated their pacers, used Moeen to keep the runs down, but the Pant-Pandya duo knew exactly what they were doing, played according to plan, and India started to dominate the middle overs. A poorly positioned Craig Overton had a catching opportunity off Pandya at fine leg, but he messed the chance up completely.

As with every match-winning mammoth partnership, the milestones started to pile up. Both batsmen reached their fifties, the partnership crossed 100, and the more the target was ground down, the more Pant swung his bat and found the boundaries. The wicket of Hardik Pandya, thanks to an intelligent bit of bowling from Carse and a stupendous catch from Ben Stokes, gave England a bit of hope.

The nerves were in display for just a tad bit in the first few deliveries of the Pant-Jadeja partnership, with the duo not quite being able to be on the same page. But the English threat was soon diminished, as Rishabh Pant decided to put his foot down and absolute boss the situation. Pant reached his maiden One Day International hundred, David Willey was crunched to all parts of the ground by the left-handed wicket-keeper, and the icing was put on the cake when Pant pulled out the reverse sweep to get things done in style!

Wow. Wow! Rishabh Pant saved his trademark stroke, the reverse sweep, for the last! What a knock this has been, he didn't really have a good footing in white ball cricket up until today, but this knock will do wonders to his chances of sealing a spot in the white ball side for good! 125 is what he finishes with, and India clinches the series 2-1!

42.1 Joe Root to Rishabh Pant, PANT FINISHES IT IN STYLE! It had to be a maverick stroke from a maverick player and well, it's a well-executed reverse-sweep over third man that seals the deal for India as Pant gets into good position to help it on its way. He seals a stunning chase in grand fashion as India beat England by 5 wickets to wrap up the series 2-1!
