A historic moment in women's cricket and sport in general. South Africa will bask in euphoria - after years and years of trying in both the men's and women's game, they have finally made the summit clash of a Cricket World Cup final. At home as well - is destiny writing out a fairytale script for the Proteas? We will know in a couple of days' time as the team returns to this very venue to take on the mighty Australians. Oh that ought to be a cracker alright!

Spare a moment though for England - all throughout the tournament, they have played a fearless brand of cricket and pulled out much the same today as well. Alas though, they couldn't hold their nerve in the key moments and the brilliance of this South African bowling unit proved too hot to handle. Whether this is the swansong in World Cups for Katherine Sciver-Brunt or not is something time will tell. But you can be rest assured that some of these youngsters are going to light up the stage for many years to come.

Sune Luus (South Africa captain): England played really well. It was a good game. Probably the best bowling attack against the best batting attack of the tournament. The girls gave their everything today. We were out of the game, then in it, then out again, then back in again. It did seem like an absolute rollercoaster. Our batters did very well today, full credit to the openers for the way they set up a platform for the rest of the batters to come in. Ayabonga (Khaka) is one of the finest bowlers in the world, and she showed why that is so today. The crowd has been fantastic, they have become a part of our family, and we hope to see them on Sunday.

Heather Knight (England captain): Obviously gutted. But what a brilliant game of cricket this was. We fought really hard to take it as close as we did but I thought South Africa bowled brilliantly. We let them get a few too many runs but it was a great game. We tried to entertain and I think we've done that this tournament. Hopefully we come back better in the next tournament. We're starting to build something really nicely. In T20 cricket this happens sometimes. We were going really nicely, we were clear about how we wanted to approach our cricket. The young players have stepped up really well. (How big are these two semifinals for women's cricket?) It's been great. It's great the people have come out and supported us. It proves how much it benefits when you do your best and people come out and support. Yesterday and today were massive for our game. I'll be watching (the final). Credit to Sune and the team for making the final.

Tazmin Brits is the Player of the Match for her 68 off 55 and four catches to go with it. Here's what she has to say: As a cricketer you dream of these moments. Big thank you to the crowd for your support without which it wouldn't have been possible. Wolvie and I took time in the beginning but we needed to accelerate. We said 140 is a minimum and 160 is what we're looking at. I had to rotate the strike. Glad the team did well to get to that 165. I'm very pleased and I'm very happy with that (catch to dismiss Alice Capsey). The crowd tells you what it means especially for our country. Finals, here we come!

What an absolute roller-coaster we had today. England appeared to be on top of this game for most of it but were decimated towards its end. Shabnim Ismail got the ball rolling for South Africa after she bagged the two strikes of Sophia Dunkley and Alice Capsey in the last over of the powerplay but it was Ayabonga Khaka, who was the real star for them with the ball in hand.

England were served well by their openers Sophia Dunkley and Danielle Wyatt, who got them off to one of the quickest starts in this competition. They were on top of the game until the slog overs, with the likes of Natalie Sciver-Brunt and skipper Heather Knight too playing important roles. However, South Africa managed to run through the English middle order and got on a roll themselves, Wicketkeeper batter Jones had a tough day as well.

Earlier in the day, Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits set up the platform for South Africa to put up a big total. Brits was on fire in the field as well, nabbing four catches! If there ever was a headline that our friends from the newspapers would have wanted to get hold of, it would have been this- Brits takes on the Brits singlehandedly! Ismail and Khaka were the stars for them with the ball, while the aforementioned duo were the heroines with the bat.

South Africa will be extremely proud of the way they performed in this competition- they have qualified for the final for the first time and created history while doing so. They will now take on favourites Australia in the summit clash on Sunday. With the way they outperformed the English today, one cannot quite rule them out. We have had two extremely exciting semifinals in this competition, and we have enjoyed every moment of it!

19.6 Shabnim Ismail to Sarah Glenn, SKIED AND SAFE! But it doesn't matter - the Proteas swarm into a huddle of euphoria as they make their maiden World Cup final in the sport across genders! What a moment for South African cricket! Another slower full length delivery around off stump and Glenn swings for the bleachers. Miscued, but it drops safe of mid-off running after it upon turning around. Falls safe before they gather themselves as the batters run two. All that matters though is that this is a legal delivery and look at the scenes of joy - you can't stop them today. They have defied odds aplenty to achieve something simply incredible. South Africa qualify for the final of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup and will play Australia on Sunday!

And that will, most probably, be that! England cannot win this game if a legal delivery is bowled.

19.5 Shabnim Ismail to Sarah Glenn, UP IN THE AIR...SAFE! But South Africa have made it surely! Slower delivery in the slot around the off stump as Glenn shanks it high into the sky. Drops well short of long off haring towards it before the batters run two. An errant throw at the striker's end but not a costly one. This should be it for the game...

19.4 Shabnim Ismail to Charlie Dean, WELL STOPPED! Slower back of a length delivery on off stump as Dean walks well across her stumps. Laps it on the up to short fine leg where the fielder comes in the way of it to her right. 11 needed off 2...

THE NEWLANDS ERUPT! Ismail is well on course to take her nation to the final. The England captain goes, and with her, possibly her country's chances of winning this semifinal.

19.3 Shabnim Ismail to Heather Knight, KNOCKS HER OVER! Newlands erupts in joy! Off-cutter on a length at the stumps. Angles back in as it holds in the pitch with Knight doing what she has to as she stays a touch low looking to heave it towards the stands. She is beaten by the lack of pace though as leg stump lies flat on the ground. Ismail roars, Cape Town roars, the whole of South Africa roars as they are very close to making the final now!

19.2 Shabnim Ismail to Heather Knight, SUPERB DELIVERY! Takes a lot of pace off on a length as she follows Knight walking well across her stumps. She attempts a lap around the corner but plays all around it with the ball thudding into her thigh pads. Ismail then charges in to ensure there is no run on offer

19.1 Shabnim Ismail to Sarah Glenn, low full toss angling into middle and leg stump. Glenn holds her ground and swings uppishly towards long on without middling it. It's all down to the England captain now!

South Africa keep it down to one off the last ball- this means that Glenn will be on strike for the first ball of the last over, and not Heather Knight! What a semifinal encounter we have on our hands here- 12 runs needed off the final over!
