Aritharan Vaseekaran and Rohit Singh took up the mantle from the others in the German side as they fell and left the responsibility up to this duo. It was as simple as trying to hit every ball out of sight, although it did not make much difference to the Dutch despite them bowling in good areas.

Vaseekaran, in particular, was in a destructive mood, and tore into the Netherlands XI bowlers, whether they made mistakes or not. At one stage in the game, it appeared as if almost everything that was bowled in the good length area was sent out of the park.

However, Vaseekaran departed after his half-century, and it appeared as if a gulf was about to form. Skipper Singh, then, took charge and ensured that he led his team towards the finishing line with minimum casualties. Germany will be extremely pleased with this showing of theirs.
