Sweden Women won by 78 runs

It was a dominating performance from Sweden as they brushed past Gibraltar by 78 runs to continue their good showing in the tournament. Gibraltar started the innings well with a boundary right away in the first over but that was perhaps the only bright spot during their run chase.

None of the batters could pose any sort of threat and kept giving away their wickets cheaply. Neeha Kayani and Kanchan Rana swung the ball into the right-handers and Gibraltar had just no answers.

Christine McNally was their top scorer, with 5 which goes on to prove how desperately Gibraltar needed some runs. They were eventually bowled out for a meager 35 runs in the 10th over.

Earlier it was a commendable effort from Italy Women to post a more than competitive score of 113/2 in their allotted 10 overs.

It was Gibraltar who won the toss and put Sweden in. Kanchan Rana was dismissed without troubling the scorers but the duo of Signe Lundell and Anya Vaidya turned it on for Sweden, finding the boundaries at regular intervals.

They batted sensibly and kept rotating the strike. Like yesterday, Sweden wwas also gifted a cluster of wide balls as Gibraltar failed to get in the right areas. Vaidya batted brilliantly and was eventually dismissed on 36 off 22 deliveries, which included 4 fours and a couple of sixes.

Signa Lundell managed to bat through and eventually remained unbeaten on 43 off 29 deliveries. Gunjan Shukla also found the middle of the bat during the latter stages of the innings, remaining unbeaten on 17 off just 6 deliveries. Nicola Caruana was the only wicket taker for Gibraltar with the wicket of Vaidya to her name.
