That brings us to an end to our coverage of the Spice Isle T10 game between the Ginger Generals and Clove Challengers. We look forward to bring you more action from this tournament as it comes to its latter stages. A 40-run win for the Ginger Generals. The Challengers chase was off to a slow start, but unlike the General innings, there were too many wickets at the start and no one could get going. It was Kimani Melius and Johann Jeremiah who laid the best possible foundation for Cato and Daniel to finish things off in sumptuous fashion. Melius top-scored with 52 off 25 on what he described later was a slow wicket; he adapted to the conditions well and banked on the spin bowling of the Clove Challengers. He was ably supported by Jeremiah, and the Generals reached 120 in 10.
Teddy Bishop had a rather painful stay in the middle. Far off from taking on the bowling, he was peppered with short balls by Javel St. Paul before the pacer cleaned him up with a subtle change of pace. Ettienne looked to hit every ball out of the Windward Islands, he failed to get the desired results and perished soon after. Junior Henry and Darron Nedd promised a bit for a while, but neither of them could find the boundaries frequently, and once both of them fell in the 7th over with the required rate climbing up to 16, the game was done and dusted. A procession of wickets followed as the wickets column of the Generals bowlers improved, and eventually, their opponents of the night crawled to 80 in the allotted 10 overs. The Generals comfortably sit atop the points table with 10 points, their net run rate going up a few notches after today's thumping win, whereas the languish at the bottom of the table continues for the Clove Challengers.
