Well, this has been an entertaining game to start off a new ECS series. Madrid did not have quite the start in the chase as they lost an early wicket. However, they did pick up pace going into the half-way stage and looked in control of the chase with Jon Woodward and Raheel Siddique putting up a brilliant partnership for them.

It pretty much looked like the duo will comfortably take them home. However, Granada bowled well in those death overs to not give away easy boundaries and they did stem the run flow as well, so much so that it eventually became too much for Madrid to do in the end, as a result of which they fell short.

So, a winning start for Granada to the tournament in the first game and that is always a confidence booster. Madrid were decent but good enough in the end to get over the line. It was a close encounter nonetheless and it sets up the tournament really well!

That is that, brilliant final over from Davies this and Granada have successful defended their total to win this game eventually. Madrid were in control but they slowed things down so much so that they fall short in the end. Granada open their account with 5-run win!
