That is it from the match today! This is Sourabh Agrawal along with Arya Sekhar Chakraborty signing off! Have a good night! We will see you super soon.
Wanindu Hasarnga, Player of the Match - Was more satisfied with my batting (on being asked to compare his batting and bowling in the match). Generally, I play lower down the order at 6-7 but today got the chance to bat up the order. I like the tag of all-rounder against my name, very happy to perform well.
Colin Munro (Desert Vipers captain): Yeah a lot better. It's the team effort which was more pleasing tonight than the other night. The way we started with the ball was outstanding. We dropped a few catches but those things happen. Hose didn't get going but played a matured knock. Hasaranga, wow he had a great game. We have all the matchups and all those stuffs but on the match day we have to adapt and play the game infront of you. Would have been nice to get a few more runs in the powerplay. I think we nearly ticked all the boxes, or nearly getting there. Shaheen is a freak in a good way. He was outstanding and having him is a huge thing for us
James Vince (Gulf Giants captain): Yeah the way Lynni and Cox played, got us back in the game. At one stage 180 was on the cards and I feel on this wicket it would have been competitive. Hasaranga played a brilliant knock for them and changed the momentum of the game. I didn't bat for length, when the bowlers bowled decent length there was a bit of variation in pace and length. It was very wet our there. We have to tidy up in a few areas. We got to be up and running. The quality of the opposition will make you pay. You have to be on your toes.
It turned out to be a fairly comfortable victory for the Desert Vipers in the end. They got off to a cautious start in the powerplay losing just 1 wicket in the first 6 overs. It was the crucial partnership between Wanindu Hasaranga and Adam Hose in the middle overs which was the key in this chase. And then, cameos from Azam Khan and Sherfane Rutherford were enough to close out the match.
For the Gulf Giants, it was never a match-winning score with so much dew out there. They tried hard, specially the likes of Dominic Drakes, but it wasn't to be enough.
Earlier, the bowlers of Desert Vipers led by the returning Shaheen Afridi had restricted the Gulf Giants to a sub-par score. Even though Chris Lynn scored a brisk half-century, the Giants would have certainly liked a bit more on the board.
Stick around for the presentations!
18.4 Blessing Muzarabani to Sherfane Rutherford, SIX! That's game set and match for the Desert Vipers. They notch up their first points of the tournament. Short of a length delivery from Muzarabani and that has been powered away well over the deep square leg fence, riding the bounce and connecting the pull to a nicety.
18.3 Blessing Muzarabani to Sherfane Rutherford, Rutherford comes dancing down the track and tries to club that away over the mid-off or the extra cover region, the extra bit of bounce doesn't allow him to make contact.
18.2 Blessing Muzarabani to Azam Khan, fullish-length delivery outside off, Azam losing his shape a bit there while swinging across the line, the top edge flies away towards the deep third man region, has to settle for a single.
18.1 Blessing Muzarabani to Azam Khan, Azam Khan moves across off and tries to scoop that length delivery a tad outside off over the fine leg fielder in the circle, doesn't make any contact.
Blessing Muzarabani [3.0-0-27-0] is back into the attack
Just formalities remaining in the game now! The Desert Vipers are one hit away from their first win of the season. 6 needed off 12!

17.6 Chris Jordan to Sherfane Rutherford, a well directed short delivery from Jordan and Rutherford was in no position to connect the pull shot, again deflects off his body towards the short third man fielder.
17.5 Chris Jordan to Sherfane Rutherford, on a hard-length from Jordan, Rutherford loses his shape this time while swinging across the line, doesn't make contact, deflected off his body towards the point fielder.
17.4 Chris Jordan to Sherfane Rutherford, FOUR! Rutherford has been good at picking the gaps tonight. Fractionally shorter from Jordan, Rutherford gets enough of that pull shot, in the gap and off to the square leg fence.
17.3 Chris Jordan to Azam Khan, Azam comes dancing down the track and swats away the back of a length delivery around middle, down towarrds the long on region and takes a single.
17.2 Chris Jordan to Sherfane Rutherford, on a good-length a shade outside off, Rutherford clubs that down the ground, wide of the long on fielder but has to settle for a single.
17.1 Chris Jordan to Azam Khan, Azam gets inside the line of the ball and tries to help away the back of a length delivery over the fine leg region, the ball hurried him on that occasion, gloved away towards short fine leg and rolls the strike over.
Chris Jordan [2.0-0-30-0] is back into the attack
Good effort from Dominic Drakes today. Gave it all he had but unfortunately might not be enough for his team.
