Naveen-ul-Haq, player of the match: This is how cricket is- sometimes you bowl well but don't get wickets and somedays you are just lucky. I think that is how it was for me today. I felt well while I was bowling. I had a good time. Good result, and hopefully, we can carry this forward.

Moeen Ali, Sharjah Warriors' captain: Great win in the end. Woakes was outstanding tonight. Hopefully, we are peaking at the right time. Felt that today I was not needed to bowl. The ball was swinging around quite well early on.

James Vince, Gulf Giants' captain: Not really used to the conditions here. At the halfway mark, it seemed like we had a decent total. The ball swung a little less, and for not as long. 150-odd on this surface is not really ideal. A few soft dismissals at the top. We approach every game trying to win it. We have to move on fairly quickly.

The Giants crumbled to the pressure put up by the bowlers of the Warriors. Wickets fell at regular intervals and this ensured that the former did not get going at all. Chris Woakes bowled a fantastic spell and made sure that the backbone of the Giants was broken in the early stages of this game.

Naveen-ul-Haq and Junaid Siddique too put up a stellar showing with the ball in hand, and ensured that the game went the way of the Warriors. Moeen Ali will be extremely happy with the way his team performed. Joe Denly scored an eventful half-century with the bat and made sure that the Warriors managed to score as much as they did.

All in all, this was a stupendous performance, and the Sharjah Warriors will be extremely pleased with the way they have outperformed the Gulf Giants here today in Dubai!

This was the slower one, pitched on a good length outside off stump, Gleeson was early onto his shot trying to fend it away, the ball sneaked past his bat and crashed into his off stump! The Sharjah Warriors are well and truly alive in this competition, they take this game by 21 runs!
