Rehan has taken 35 wickets in 37 matches so far while playing for Le Sister Share in the Vitality Blast, in which his best performance has been four wickets for 22 runs, and while batting he has also scored 317 runs at a strike rate of 112, in which his highest score is 49 runs. Rehan Ahmed played the next match of his T20 career against New Zealand on 5 September 2023, where he performed averagely and took two wickets for 27 runs in four overs.

Ahmed's father, Naeem Ahmed, a former cricketer from Pakistan, played as a fast-bowling all-rounder before moving to England in 2001. Originally from Mirpur in Azad Kashmir, Naeem relocated with his wife and started working as a taxi driver. Ahmed's brothers, Farhan and Raheem, are also cricketers.

Ahmed began his youth career in Nottinghamshire but switched to Leicestershire in 2017. By the age of 13, he was already considered one of the brightest young talents in English cricket.
