Commentary

So India have avenged the defeat of the previous Under 19 World Cup final against their neighbours and now they will lock horns with Australia for a spicy semifinal. That will be all for today's Sportskeeda coverage. Stay tuned for more live-action, this is Raghav and Pratyush signing off!

Yash Dhull, India captain: Our team combination is good, everyone is motivated and we have good team chemistry. It was a difficult and sort of a lifetime experience, staying out in quarantine. The team did well in the absence of some first-team players. We are grateful to play under the likes of VVS Laxman. We will think about Australia on the matchday once the wicket is ready.

Rakibul Hasan, Bangladesh captain: I think toss was the key factor here. The wicket was soft initially and credit to Indian bowlers to bowl well and take advantage. Our batters played certain shots which they shouldn't have. Had we held our nerves in the first 10-15 overs, we could have posted a better score. It is a hard pill to swallow but we will look forward to the two more matches we have. I am happy with the bowling and batting unit, they did well.

Ravi Kumar (Player of the match): The plan was simple. Wanted to maintain my lines while bowling. We wanted to create pressure and we did that well. The 8-day break was pretty good. We didn't have our captain and vice-captain in the previous games. We got to spend some good time together. The experience has been a pleasant one so far but there's still a lot to learn.

India win the match by five wickets and book a semifinal spot against Australia! The runners up of the previous tournament come out on top against the defending champions. Bangladesh fought hard but not quite enough to restrict India today.

India were always going to be favourites for chasing down 112 but the run chase had its ups and downs. They lost Harnoor Singh early in the second over with Tanzim Hasan drawing the first blood. Raghuvanshi and Rasheed consolidated from there. They started slowly and scored only 28 runs in the powerplay. The duo pushed up the scoring rate and took the game away from Bangladesh.

Ripon Mondal made things difficult for India. He ripped through the middle order and made a name for himself. The pacer bagged four scalps and displayed a short bowling masterclass. India lost the four wickets in quick succession and suddenly the run chase looked a tad bit tricky. However, skipper Yash Dhull held his nerve. He remained not out in the run chase and made sure he stayed till the end.

So while Ravi Kumar and Vicky Ostwal starred for India with the ball, Angkrish Raghuvanshi top scored in the match. He had decent support from Shaik Rasheed and Yash Dhull in the short but tricky run chase.
