This is me, Mohul Bhowmick, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Arya Sekhar Chakraborty. England managed to stifle the Indian run chase despite Shafali Verma's best attempts. The home team's fielding and bowling came into the spotlight. Until next time, ciao!

Natalie Sciver-Brunt, player of the match: We had a good game overall. Danni (Wyatt) batted really well and took the pressure off me. I am quite pleased to win this game. We bat well together (Wyatt and her). I tried to score more off the seamers while she took the spinners on. I think the pitch was pretty good to play on. We just needed to execute our plans, and we did that well today.

Heather Knight, England captain: Everything went to plan. The partnership between Nat (Sciver-Brunt) and Dani (Wyatt) was fantastic. This is how we want to approach our cricket, and it was nice to see the girls adapt well. I would have taken 197 after losing the toss- I would have bowled first as well- but I am extremely happy. We gave away a few extras, and that is something we can improve for sure.

Harmanpreet Kaur, India captain: It wasn't easy. The girls will learn from this. We need such games ahead of the T20 World Cup. We will learn from this and improve. We know that they have some really good batters. We had a few changes in our bowling lineup, but I am sure that we will get back strongly. I expected some good fielding from our side, but we were not up to the mark. We need to discuss the positives in our dressing room.

Danielle Wyatt: Pitch was a bit tricky. Nats scoring runs all the time. Such a calm player to bat with. I felt hitting the pockets was the right thing tonight. There was a bit of movement in the top. Renuka is a top-class bowler but we knew it wouldn't swing much. Definitely, we thought it might not be enough with the batting line up India has. We had a good two weeks in Oman. We worked really hard there, similar conditions. Looking to get out there on Saturday and put up a similar performance.

India failed to rise to the challenge set to them by the English bowlers and ended up second-best in a game that saw them being comfortably defeated.

England will be extremely proud of their efforts with the ball in hand, and more so with the bat earlier in the day, when they managed to push the total to such a big score.

The likes of Natalie Sciver-Brunt and Sophie Ecclestone weaved their magic past the Indian batters in this innings, and despite a knock of real substance from Shafali Verma, the hosts failed to win.

England lead this series 1-0 and will try to beat India in the remaining two games as well. India will be disappointed with their bowling performance earlier in the day and try to move ahead with the grit that they have showcased of late.

Their new head coach Amol Muzumdar spoke before this game of focussing on fitness and fielding, and both came in plain view today. India will surely have to work very hard on the latter.

A boundary off the last ball but it adds virtually nothing to the total!
