Bangladesh after batting first did well to put on a par score on this surface. Rahim's heroics with the bat allowed the visitors to overcome the top-order collapse. Graham Hume and Mark Adair made some good contributions with the ball and they will be the big positives for Ireland. The Irish top-order could not quite get going. They lost the battle against Bangladeshi seamers and Taijul. Rain interrupted the play after 16.3 overs into the Ireland innings. Bangladesh were comfortably ahead in DLS and they might feel robbed here. With this result, South Africa have booked a qualification ticket to the World Cup and Ireland will have to play the qualifiers if they want to make it to India in October 2023.
