Thanks a lot for tuning into the live action today from Chelmsford. This is me, Mohul Bhowmick, signing off on behalf of my partner Karthik Raj. Ireland will be hoping to pull one back on Sunday in the third One Day International and draw the series, after the first game of the series yielded no result. Najmul Hossain Shanto (Player of the Match): Praise be to God. I am feeling very good. Very happy with my performance. Hridoy batted extremely well and that helped me as well. It's quite cold here. We couldn't control the conditions so we had to focus more on executing our plans. The crowd has been fantastic here- it seemed like we were playing at home.

Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh captain): Whenever we play in England, the support we have is outstanding. It was similar to playing against England in the 2017 series, where our supporters outnumbered theirs in one game. We always knew that this target was achievable. We had to bat deep but sadly didn't start well. With a ground of this size, boundaries will always come. Glad with the way Shanto and Hridoy played today. Hoping for some warm weather on Sunday!

Andy Balbirnie (Ireland captain): It's a hard one to digest at the moment. We would like to sit down tomorrow and look at it. It is tough for the fans. Credit to Bangladesh for the way they played today. No matter where you're playing, 319 is a good score, but it seemed to be a bit short towards the end. Tector is getting better and better for us; he will surely score winning hundreds for Ireland in the future. I think we gave good entertainment to the crowd.

There is no denying that it was the stupendous partnership that Najmul Hossain Shanto and Towhid Hridoy got that helped Bangladesh eventually cross the line, although Mushfiqur Rahim will say that he played some part in it!

Opener and skipper Tamim Iqbal was looking in fine nick, but somehow could not quite get going. He departed after smacking a loose delivery straight to the hands of George Dockrell at square leg. His fellow opener Litton Das promised a bit with his exuberant shotmaking but fell soon after, as did veteran Shakib Al Hasan, who seemed to have the intention to smack almost everything that was bowled to him by the Irish.

It was Shanto and Hridoy, however, who stitched together a partnership of 131 runs that allowed Bangladesh to breathe easy towards the end. Irish skipper Andrew Balbirnie might be blame somewhat but he had restricted options on hand. With Josh Little not having turned up at the races, the bulk of the pressure was on Graham Hume and Mark Adair to perform.

All-rounder Curtis Campher picked up a few wickets here and there, but there were few other bowlers who impressed for Ireland. George Dockrell managed to squeeze in a good nine overs, but the day clearly belonged to Bangladesh. It was rather unfortunate to see poor Harry Tector end up on the losing side despite having scored a fantastic century earlier in the day.

And Rahim scoops it away over the keeper to pick up a boundary that wins it for Bangladesh!
