It's time for the Pakistan players to pose with the winners trophy. It turned out be a pretty one sided game but Ireland did challenge Pakistan in the series and have thesemlves to blame for not making history and winning the series in the second match itself. All said and done, Pakistan made a remarkable comeback and have won the series 2-1. Like always it was a pleasure bringing all the live coverage from this encounter. Till the next time, this is the trio of Arya Sekhar Chakraborty, Pragadeesh and Sooryanarayan Sesha signing off. Goodnight! Cheers!
Babar Azam (Pakistan captain): To be honest, credit goes to the Ireland batters for batting the way they did in the first 10 overs. After the 10th over all our bowlers came back strongly. I think the last four overs in the death we were good. We enjoyed the crowd support. We tried to entertain the crowd. We tried to play our best cricket here. Yes we have a good communication in the middle. We have played a lot of cricket together. We keep talking about the run rate and target the bowlers and play to our strengths. We were trying to match the run rate. Yes we have a big tournament coming. We have had good practice. Now we are looking forward to the England series. Few mistakes here and there which we need to discuss.
Lorcan Tucker (Ireland captain): yeah it was a great privilege to lead the Ireland side. Was a huge honour. We were still in a preparation period for the World Cup. You never know what happens in the first few weeks in America. Fingers crossed for the World Cup. The platform was set very nicely, we played with great intent but fell well short of what we were aiming for which was 200+. I think so, maybe a bit disappointing with the result but the way we fought and the intent was great. Playing cricket in a couple of weeks at New York will be great.
Shaheen Afridi (Player of the Match) - I think we hit in the partnership. It's not about only me as it's a collective effort. We bowled very full in the last two matches and we have our seniors who are there to guide us. For us, before the WC, it's important to have more matches to get ready,. There are few areas we need to improve. They both are world class players and they know how to win matches. The crowd has been outstanding
Pakistan won by 6 wickets (with three overs to spare)
Babar Azam 75(42) | Shaheen Shah Afridi 3/14(4) Lorcan Tucker 73(41) | Mark Adair 3/28(4)
It turned out to be a walk in the park for Pakistan in the end as they won the final T20I by 6 wickets to take the series 2-1. There was no respite for the Irish bowlers as the two most experienced Pakistan batters in this format, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan showed their class and took their side over the finish line with overs to spare. At the halfway stage, Pakistan always had the upper hand on a small ground and a belter of a wicket and they didn't disappoint.
Saim Ayub got a freebie very first ball and got going with a few boundaries. However, an attempted no-look whip resulted in his downfall. Out came Babar Azam and the tempo of the game changed drastically. While the Pakistan skipper struggled in the first few deliveries, it was Rizwan who started taking the attack to the Irish bowlers and smashed them for boundaries at will.
Babar got into his groove with a couple of boundaries but was dropped by George Dockrell at a crucial juncture of the game. After the drop, Babar shifted his gears and bashed his way through to a 42 ball 75. He smashed Ben White for four sixes in an over and it looked at one stage that he was aiming for six sixes. It was Babar Azam unleashed as he showed a different side to his game.
We don't really associate Babar with brute force but today it was something different. Rizwan at the other end kept moving the scoreboard. When Rizwan departed in the 15th over, Pakistan were within touching distance of the victory target. They also lost Babar Azam in the next over as he tried to continue the onslaught. Azam Khan then came out and smoked some big shots to take Pakistan over the finish line with three overs to spare.
That was an exceptional effort in the deep but this could just be a six. Die the fielder manage to parry the ball back in play? This will be six runs and Pakistan wins by 6 wickets. A comfortable win again and take the series 2-1. They were challenged at certain moments in the series but today it was a one sided tale all through the day. Ireland batted well till the 13th over before absolutely losing their way. The score or 178 was never going to be enough and it proved the same.

16.6 Mark Adair to Azam Khan, OH! Tector pulls off a stunning save. Oh is it? Looks like his foot is over the ropes when he flicked the ball back in play. Pakistan win the series 2-1. Pitched up on a fuller length, Azam goes down to one knee to sweep this to the right of deep mid-wicket. Tector covered good ground to his right but couldn't hold balance at the right time to flick the ball back in play
16.5 Mark Adair to Azam Khan, SIX! Sheer power and it clears the ropes comfortably. Stands deep in his crease and swats the length delivery. It catches the sweet spot and gets a maximum
16.5 Mark Adair to Azam Khan, WIDE! Angles the length delivery away from the hitting arc but it moves too much to go away from the wide line
16.4 Mark Adair to Azam Khan, pitched up angling across off-stump, Azam stands deep to whack this downtown but only manages to connect the fresh air
16.3 Mark Adair to Imad Wasim, good length delivery angling back, Imad steps away and swipes it down to mid-wicket for a single
Imad Wasim, LHB is the new man in.
One more bites the dust as Iftikhar Ahmed takes the long walk back to the pavilion. From the cue end of the bat and Curtis Campher at long on doesn't make a mistake. Too little too late still if something dramatic doesn't happen.
16.2 Mark Adair to Iftikhar Ahmed, OUT! Pitched up on a fuller length, Iftikhar slogs it towards long-on. He targets the bigger side but can't clear the fielder as the catch has been taken easily. Iftikhar Ahmed c Curtis Campher b Mark Adair 5 (4b, 1x4, 0x6)
16.1 Mark Adair to Iftikhar Ahmed, opens the blade and dabs the length delivery to short third
Another successful over for Ireland but that seems to be too little too late. Azam Khan finishing the over with a boundary to close out another productive over for Pakistan. Babar Azam couldn't quite see it through to the end but Iftikhar and Azam Khan showing their intent and is looking to finish it off as early as possible.
