Commentary

So the boundary-hitting saga finally comes to end with a wicket. Never really looked in the contest when Hosan Ahmed departed courtesy a huddle in the middle. VEN started out very positively as they cruised to 55-1 at the end of Powerplay. The start to the chase wasn't that great as Nazmul Haque departed for a golden duck.
Rajib Miah then joined Hosan Ahmed to stitch a crucial second-wicket partnership and boy were they well on course! They displayed some absolute mindboggling shots coupled with passive-aggressiveness in the middle as they together put on 57 in their partnership. It was all hunky-dory until Sharukh Nawaz threw an absolute screamer from mid-on uprooting the middle timber to send Hosan Ahmed back in the pavilion.

Hasnat Ahmed and Harsha Wass wreaked havoc by putting brakes to the run chase as they picked up two wickets each to strangle the opposition.

One of the crucial requirements in a big run chase is the consistent momentum with the team batting second for them to effectively chase down the target. And that was missing for VEN.
You cannot afford to give away catches let alone a run-out in such cases. And VEN did both of that and all of the credit should go to JIN as the batters did the job in the first half courtesy Nisar Ahmed's 94 and then the bowlers and fielders taking charge.
