Match summary:
Joburg Super Kings win by 7 wickets with one ball to spare
Faf du Plessis 57(29) | Lizaad Williams 3/46 (4) Wiaan Mulder 59(40) | Noor Ahmad 2/16 (4)
The Wanderers were absolutely bouncing about in the last half hour as the Super Kings pulled off an incredible effort to secure that fourth spot in the playoffs. They were in dire need of some momentum - Faf du Plessis had emphasized on it a while back - they sure have quite a lot of it going into the playoffs now! There's a chance that the Super Kings will be playing on home turf - all the more reason for the outfit in yellow to be upbeat!
The Super Kings were in need of a fast start in the chase, and they had one with Leus du Plooy and Faf du Plessis going out all guns blazing. 75 runs came in the powerplay as du Plooy and du Plessis smashed the fast-bowling trio of Reece Topley, Wiaan Mulder and Naveen-ul-Haq to all parts. The opening stand lasted a good couple of overs after that, with the duo raising a 100-run partnership for the first wicket.
Noor Ahmad, who seemed to be a handful with his googlies, broke the stand by trapping du Plessis in front. Wayne Madsen came in, he was offered width from Paul on several occasions, and that got him well set. A few quiet overs followed as du Plooy and Madsen guided the Super Kings towards stability, but the asking rate began climbing as we headed towards the death overs.
Noor provided a second breakthrough, dismissing du Plooy with a clever change in pace. Moeen Ali was due for a telling cameo - he went on to provide the Super Kings with just that - blazing his way to a 12-ball 26 and getting the Super Kings to the brink. The job was still half done, though, but with 9 to get off 3, Ferreira came in, swung at a couple and got the job done.
19.5 Dwaine Pretorius to Donavon Ferreira, SIX! Joburg Super Kings have qualified for the playoffs! An absolute cinch for Donavon Ferreira, this - he's just gone on and smashed 14 off 3 to seal the deal! Half volley on off stump, Ferreira absolutely muscled the bones out of this one, clearing the ropes at long on by some distance!
19.4 Dwaine Pretorius to Donavon Ferreira, wide yorker, Ferreira digs this one out towards wide long off. The batters scamper back for the second, and the scores are level...
19.3 Dwaine Pretorius to Donavon Ferreira, SIX! Pretorius misses the yorker again, dishes out a full toss, and Ferreira needed no second invitation! He gives it a whack, and the ball ends up over the hoardings at cow corner!
Donavon Ferreira, RHB, comes to the crease
19.2 Dwaine Pretorius to Moeen Ali, HOLES OUT THIS TIME! Full, closer to the blockhole outside off, Moeen looked to slice this one over cover, got more height than distance, and holed out to Naveen in the deep!
Moeen Ali c Naveen-ul-Haq b Dwaine Pretorius 26 (12b, 2x4, 2x6)
19.1 Dwaine Pretorius to Moeen Ali, FOUR! What a start to the last over for the Super Kings! Pretorius misses the yorker, dishes a half-volley outside off, Moeen drills this one over the bowler's head, and the ball makes its way to the ropes

18.6 Naveen-ul-Haq to Wayne Madsen, the ramp... no the reverse ramp... Madsen doesn't connect! Slower ball, dished up on a full length wide outside off as Madsen moved all across his crease looking to ramp it over the keeper. Made no contact eventually
18.5 Naveen-ul-Haq to Moeen Ali, yorker on off, Moeen squeezes this one out towards deep cover for a run
18.4 Naveen-ul-Haq to Moeen Ali, SIX MORE! Full, quicker on off stump this time, Moeen muscles this one through its line, and goes on to clear that short cow corner boundary!
18.3 Naveen-ul-Haq to Moeen Ali, SIX! When Moeen hits them off the middle, they end up worth millions! Full, right in the slot on leg stump, Moeen has the most clean swing at it across the line, and the ball ends up deep into the first tier at mid wicket!
18.2 Naveen-ul-Haq to Moeen Ali, full, close to the blockhole on off stump, Moeen drills this one to the left of the man at long off. Madsen calls his partner for the second and they make it
18.1 Naveen-ul-Haq to Moeen Ali, slow, short of a length on leg stump, Moeen can't do anything about it other than letting it through to the keeper
