Rassie van der Dussen , Player of the match - I love playing here and it's always great performing here. I love the people here and it felt like a good toss to loose actually. It was moving around a bit, but we showed some intent and threw their bowlers of length. Ryan and I know each other's game really well and we form a great partnership together. We feed off each other and that works well for us. It was disappointing to see him fall for 98, but his time will come and he is a good player. We need to get these big efforts as a batting unit, and it has given us a lot of confidence and we have the momentum with us. Hopefully we will have some nice pitches in Cape Town. Also it was a great crowd in today here.
Keiron Pollard (MI Cape Town captain): Obviously, they've laid the foundation for us, not only in this game and the last game as well, just unfortunate that Ryan didn't complete his hundred, although we don't play for personal milestone, but he deserved the hundred, we gave ourself a good chance to accumulate that amount of runs. Very pleased, pleasantly surprised, but a lot of things to fix to the last year, it's about to give the confidence to the guys, we need to understand about giving confidence and about them getting into the national side, but some of them grabbed it with both hands. Very, very big for us, wanted to a win last game, but happy to take the bonus point here and it'll get crucial at the backend of the game. We had a perfect opportunity just like last time, stuck to the task and the ball is going to fly here, but we talked about being in control and also damage, just not try to fire with fire here, but get in and out and totally did that brilliantly today. When you play home games, that's what we need to do, especially the crowd expect that and they come here for that, we're going to have the crowd behind for us and the guys had a very good camp there, we know what we're going to get there.
Faf du Plessis (Joburg Super Kings captain): Not at all surprised, I thought it'll be a lot stickier, that first over that Moeen bowled, wasn't much turn and I was a bit concerned, but they batted really well, we gave them really soft balls early and they were tremendous and on a track like if you get big partnerships, it's difficult to stop them. First game in a competition, at one stage, thought we would be chasing something close to 300, just the way the ball was going, always need to learn from it and need to make sure those big overs to small. Some better bowling towards the end, but the damage was done by then and as a batting unit, we weren't great, you feel like you need 30 in a over but lot of soft wickets didn't help. You need things to happen in a big chase like that, need big partnerships at the top of the order and we lost way too many wickets and weren't in the game. I think, we expected slightly different, we picked the team with spin heavy thinking it might grip more, it's really good for batting, good for boundary hitting, took us a little bit by surprise, but we need to adapt from what we saw today. I thought George Linde bowled really well today, he used his height to his advantage and got a lot of bounce and turn, our spinners were a bit shorter but credit to him, he didn't miss and varied his pace, well bowled.
The post match presentation is coming up!
Joburg Super Kings 145 all out in 17.5 overs Leus du Plooy 48(24) | Olly Stone 2/18 Romario Shepherd 34(19) | George Linde 2/25
This has been an absolutely emphatic performance from the MI Cape Town and they'e regrouped and got their campaign back on track after loosing their first game in the competition. They've come here at the den of the Joburg Super Kings and handed them a crushing defeat in front of a massive home crowd by a mammoth margin of 98 runs.
The home side got off to a really horrible start as they lost as many as three wickets in the powerplay itself, due to the pressure of the required run rate. There was a brief partnership in the middle between Leus du Plooy and Donovan Ferriera but they had too much to do and this target was too far from their reach. du Plooy, the South Africa born English cricketer top scored with 48, while Romario Shepherd chipped in towards the end with a brisk 34. The rest of the batters cut a sorry figure as they failed to get themselves going.
The bowling was top notch from the MI Cape Town! Kagiso Rabada was outstanding up front as he gave away just 6 runs from his two overs. George Linde bowled with precision and accuracy and picked up a couple of wickets. Olly Stone was the other wicket taker and he also chipped in with a couple more towards the end and closed out the innings quite well in the end.
MI Cape Town win by 98 runs against Joburg Super Kings and get the bonus point!
17.5 Olly Stone to Zahir Khan, OUT! MICT THRASH JSK! That's that as MI Cape Town notch up a win by a massive margin here. Full on the off-stump, Zahir once again backs away, puts his bat out but too late as that rattles the off-stump. Joburg Super Kings have been completely blown away here as MI Cape Town finish a comprehensive victory.
Zahir Khan b Olly Stone 0 (4b, 0x4, 0x6)
17.4 Olly Stone to Zahir Khan, OH! Length delivery on the fourth stump, Zahir backed away for a big swing and a miss, wasn't too far away from the off-stump.
17.3 Olly Stone to Imran Tahir, back of a length on the fourth stump, Tahir with an angled bat, taps it to backward point for one.
17.2 Olly Stone to Imran Tahir, length delivery in the channel, Tahir looks to drive but just gets beaten by sheer pace, too quick for him.
Imran Tahir, RHB, comes to the crease
Romario Shepherd's little cameo has come to an end here and the penultimate wicket has gone down. Olly Stone has picked up his first and Cape Town are just one wicket away from clinching this game.
17.1 Olly Stone to Romario Shepherd, OUT! MILES UP IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! Pollard safely pouches it and Shepherd's luck runs out finally. Short into the batter, banged it in and Shepherd looks for a big pull but top edged it straight up. Pollard at short mid-wicket takes a sitter.
Romario Shepherd c Olly Stone b Olly Stone 34(19b, 3x4, 2x6)
Olly Stone [2.0-0-17-0] comes back into the attack.
Successful over for Sam Curran and the Mi Cape Town are just two wickets away from clinching a magnificent win here. They have been superb on both aspects of the game and will be looking to close things out well.

16.5 Sam Curran to Zahir Khan, OH! Nails the yorker, right up in the blockhole. Zahir backed away and jams his bat in time to dig it out.
Zahir Khan, LHB, comes to the crease.
Soft dismissal for Nandre Burger and that's some solace for Curran who has taken some beating this afternoon. He picks up his first wicket and the Super Kings are eight down now.
16.4 Sam Curran to Nandre Burger, OUT! STRAIGHT TO STONE AND GONE! Banged it short on the off-stump, that stops a bit on the batter. Burger went back and into the shot too early, chipped it straight to Stone at short extra-cover who didn't have to move an inch.
Nandre Burger c Olly Stone b Sam Curran 9(10b, 1x4, 0x6)
16.3 Sam Curran to Nandre Burger, OH! Length delivery on the leg-stump, Burger has a wild hack across the line, but gets a thick inside edge and squirts it down to fine-leg for a couple.
