Well, that's all we have from the contest of this game. The Durban Super Giants take on the Pretoria Capitals in the second game of the double-header, and you can follow all the live action by just switching tabs. Remember, Durban Super Giants need to win with a bonus point if they are to stay alive in this tournament, so you don't want to miss out on this contest, which promises some drama. That's it from here. This is Pratyush,s signing off on behalf of my partner, Abhishek. Ta ta..
It was a comprehensive performance from the Joburg Super Kings at the end of the day to confirm their spot in the next round. Faf applauds the crowd as he jogs off, and the feeling is mutual from the people in the stands, with their captain leading the team over the line. They were superior in all three departments this afternoon and that reflects fairly in the result.
After du Plessis singlehandedly carried his side to a decent total, the bowlers did most of the damage upfront in the second innings. Bavuma stood tall for a convincing half-century to help the Sunrisers recover from 23-3 at one stage in the powerplay. His partnership alongside Markram kept their team in the game but once Bavuma was dismissed, the innings came crumbling down.
Wickets collapsed like a deck of cards with SEC losing three wickets in three balls at one stage, and their middle over not being able to bring the firepower they possess. Markram couldn't carry his team forward either, as they eventually fell well short of the target in the end.
Kyle Simmonds was superb in the middle overs, coming up with key wickets to help his side. Gerald Coetzee's double-wicket maiden at the start also proved to be huge, with Theekshana and Shepherd also doing their bit to chip in with a couple of wickets. That win puts JSK through to the next round but leaves SEC on the brink of elimination.
