That'll be all for this contest but we have another one coming up later in the day - Chattogram Challengers and Comilla Victorians face off at this very venue this evening so do be back for our coverage of the same right here on Sportskeeda. Thank you so much for tuning into our coverage of this contest, one which we hope you enjoyed as much as we did bringing to you. On behalf of my good friend and co-commentator Raghav Tikmany, this is Sooryanarayanan Sesha humbly reminding you to mask up and get vaccinated in case you haven't already. Goodbye and take care!
Mushfiqur Rahim (Khulna Tigers Captain): We have been playing really good cricket for a couple of games but couldn't finish the game off. Today I think the bowlers bowled really well and the batters did really well in the first six overs. In the day games, the wicket is fresh and there is something for the bowlers. We wanted the bowlers to exploit it and they did that really well. I think that was a 170+ wicket. (On the openers' show) That's what they're known for - I knew that if they applied themselves they will capitalize on the first six overs and that's what they did.
Andre Fletcher (Player of the Match): I batted well - what I was happy about was I tried my best to stay as long as possible and see my team home. I don't want to take credit though - the bowlers bowled really well. The way we played today it was down to the words the coach spoke to us. It uplifted us and I want to give that credit to the coach. It wasn't that bad a wicket and we wanted to go after the spinners. We're happy to get the win for the team.
Mosaddek Hossain (Sylhet Sunrisers Captain): 140 odd was not enough for this deck. Mithun and I consolidated in the middle but the runs are not enough. If big names like Bopara, Ingram and Simmons aren't performing, we cannot do much. I do not want to talk about the bowlers, the performance was embarrassing. We will look to get the two points in the next match.
The first ODI of the Women's Ashes is headed for a fascinating finish. Do switch tabs and follow our coverage of the same here while we await the presentation ceremony.
Khulna Tigers 144/1 in 14.2 overs (Andre Fletcher 71* off 47 balls, Soumya Sarkar 43 off 31 balls, Nazmul Islam 1/39 off 3.2 overs) beat Sylhet Sunrisers by 9 wickets.
A total of 142 was competitive, especially given how the Sunrisers were placed during their batting essay. With the pitch easing out for the batters though, early wickets were their only hope. When that didn't happen, they were always going to play catch up and that is exactly what transpired!
Andre 'Spiceman' Fletcher and Soumya Sarkar racked up 65 runs off the first 6 overs in what was a possessed display of hitting from the duo. Fletcher in particular seemed to be in a menacing mood, cutting absolutely no slack to any of the bowlers and with Sarkar looking sublime himself, the duo had all but shut the doors on the Sunrisers in the Powerplay.
The duo continued rolling along with absolutely nothing going the way of the Sunrisers - their bowling left a lot to be desired while the odd half-chance that came their way later on wasn't capitalized upon either. Fletcher raced his way to a half-century and even as Sarkar fell short of his by 7 runs, the 99-run opening stand from the duo pounded the Sunrisers to dust.
Fletcher continued to blow the bowlers away to smithereens, slamming the door shut on any hopes of a Sunrisers fightback. The only thing that followed was a series of full tosses and another dropped chance before Thisara Perera's cameo sealed the game in emphatic fashion with a mammoth 34 deliveries to spare.
The win has now taken the Tigers to 6 points with a massive boost to their net run-rate as well. As for the Sunrisers, their sorry campaign continues to extend into the season and they really need to find some inspiration out of somewhere in a bid to claw back into the competition before it gets too late.
THERE YOU GO! That's how you seal a contest in style. This has been sheer dominance from the Tigers who have come our roaring in Mirpur. Khulna Tigers win by 9 wickets with 34 deliveries to spare!

14.2 Nazmul Islam to Thisara Perera, SIX! GAME. SET. MATCH. Tossed up outside off, Perera goes down on one knee and hammers it over the bowler for a flat six!
Just one hit away from sealing the game now!
14.1 Nazmul Islam to Thisara Perera, FOUR! Full and on the stumps, Perera hammers it down the ground through midwicket for a boundary!
Nazmul Islam [3-0-29-1] is back into the attack. He will bowl over the wicket.
A number of wretched full tosses that over from Shiraz Ahmed - once again, a bowler from the Sunrisers is rather lucky to have not conceded more than what the over eventually went for.

Yet another instance that sums up how pear-shaped this contest has gone for the Sunrisers!
