15:33 IST, 15:03 local time: It's now once again raining heavily. Absolutely pelting down as the groundsmen are bringing in more covers. The chances of any play are getting bleaker with every moment.
15:27 IST, 14:57 local time: Ah, just when things started to look promising. A lot of those who were standing in the field have walked back inside because massive dark clouds have covered the arena. Some players ad staff are still standing out but it looks anything but good. The pitch has been covered again, as well.
15:15 IST, 14:45 Local Time - Both the captains, Babar and Shaheen, are in the middle in their training kits and are having a look at the pitch; also the teams are out on the ground as well having a look at the conditions. All the covers have been removed, the stumps have been put into place, all this indicates that there should be an official update very soon.
Pitch Report - Waqar Younis reckons that the pitch is damp due to the rain from the last few days and it will assist the seamers if they hit the right areas. It will not be the usual 200-run Pindi wicket and the side that wins the toss would look to bowl first to take advantage of the gloomy conditions, he adds.

The Lahore Qalandars are mathematically still in the reckoning for the playoffs; however improbable that may sound; so they would definitely not want this game to be called off. Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of Match 17 of PSL 2024 between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi live from Rawalpindi. I (Rudransh) and my co-commentator Sourabh will take you through every bit of ball-by-ball action from the middle!
This match is mostly about seeing whether the Qalandar can finally end their streak of losses. It has been such a difficult season for them and coming against Zalmi at this stage of the game just doesn't make it better. After losing the first two matches of the season, Babar Azam's team has been able to string three wins together. However, all of them have been while bowling second and quite narrow ones so they are not coming to this game without their shares of problems either. Expect some typical PSL drama, and a lot of twists and turns today!
