Well, the action keeps coming in thick and fast in the IPL. It's a double-header Sunday tomorrow with some exciting action coming our way again. We'll be right here to take you through it all, but for now, we take your leave. This is Pratyush Rohra, signing off on behalf of my friend, Pradeep Somashekhar. Goodnight, folks. Have a lovely weekend.
Right then. The Lucknow Super Giants come from behind and clinch a cracking victory to get their first points on the board. A new star is born in the IPL and you'll be hearing his name a lot more as the season goes on. That's the magic of this tournament, isn't it? The magic of the IPL will keep bringing in some young guns who will go on to be the stars of tomorrow. It's fair to say, we've seen one such young gun tonight.
Surprise surprise, Mayank Yadav is the Player of the Match. Let's hear what he has to say: Never thought the debut will go so well. I've always heard a bit of nervousness but that went away after the first ball. The plan was to try and bowl at the stumps, not compromise on pace and enjoy the game. I thought about using the slower one initially but once I got the wicket, the captain also asked me to stick to the pace. [Favorite wicket] The debut wicket. It was a little difficult with the injuries. One of my goals was to make my debut earlier but that didn't happen. I'm happy it's happened today.
Nicholas Pooran [Lucknow Super Giants captain]: It's a wonderful start. Nice to get a win for the home crowd. [Batting positions] It's the start of the tournament, so we have some conversations about the left-right combination and decide depending on the situation of the game. [Target] I thought it was a good score. Chasing 10s is always difficult. You can't score at 10 runs per over for 20 overs without losing wickets. Once you get those wickets, it gets challenging. It's fine. Shikhar and Bairstow played well but while they were batting, they didn't take the game away from us. [Mayank Yadav] That's the story for the night, eh? Can't say much, that was inspired. He's a young guy who has had a lot of injuries. Everyone in the team is happy that he got a chance to show what he's about. It's one thing bowling fast, but he's also so accurate. It was great to sit back and enjoy it. It's a young bowling attack. It's about giving the local players the opportunity and understand how we can help them. We have a good coaching staff and some young players. So, we will take it game by game. The pitch is different from last year. The groundsmen contributed and as batters, we can't complain.
Morne Morkel (Lucknow Super Giants bowling coach): Very happy with the win tonight, get the first points on the board is always a nice feeling, our bowlers stuck to it and the first six overs wasn't great but young Mayank bowled with heat and got us the wickets. Very happy for Mayank, tough last season, got injured in the training, very good to see someone hit the deck hard. He ran in, that was pleasing things for all of us, was a good wicket, for him to just to stick that lengths and use two bouncers, we were quite lucky with the bigger side and use the back of a length and run in with that humidity, credit to him to run in and bowl like that. For us, we didn't know how things would turn out, but we needed to do the basics right, use the bigger sides and use the right lengths. Tonight it was great to see the improvement as compared to the first game where we made mistakes. Happy with the two points tonight, pleased to see guys bowl like that. Hard to see from the dug out, it's easy to be out there in the middle.
Shikhar Dhawan (Punjab Kings captain): They played well of course, I feel that Livi got injured and that changed for us, we felt that him coming in at number 4 would've been good for us, could've chased easily. But, Mayank bowled well with great pace. (On him facing Mayank) Nice facing him, surprised me with quick one's and with the experience I have, I thought I'll use the pace of him, but he bowled well with the yorkers and change ups. I told them to use the short side, use the pace and he'll attack with short balls and of course, he bowled into the body and even to Jitesh I told the same. We're going to analyse, even the last match as well, we dropped Virat's catch and today Rahul's catch, things would've been different if we had taken the catch and come out with proper plans.
No KL Rahul? No problem. It's Nicholas Pooran who has led the hosts to a memorable win in this contest and he's done it in some style too. It was his contribution with the bat, along with Quinton de Kock and Krunal Pandya, that set the big target in the first innings. But the spotlight will be on the debutant, Mayank Yadav, who completely stole in the show in the second half of this game.
Punjab Kings were off to a blazing start courtesy of their openers, who set the tone for this run chase. The captain led from the front and Bairstow followed his example as they motored along to a hundred-run stand. However, it all came tumbling down pretty quickly from there on, and there's only one lad who deserves credit for that.
When most of the LSG bowlers seemed clueless in the middle, Mayank Yadav roared in with some extra heat to make an impact and made it a dream debut for himself. From 102-0, the Kings stumbled to 141-5, losing five wickets in quick succession and getting stuck in a muddle at the worst possible time.
Such are the margins in this tournament, that the impact Mayank made in his four overs was enough for his side to win the game. The debutant will be in the headlines tomorrow as his side clinch their first win of the season. Lucknow has a new hero emerging from the ranks and he could be one to watch out for in the remainder of this season.
A little bit to unravel in this one. So, let's get the thoughts from the players in the middle.

19.6 Naveen-ul-Haq to Shashank Singh, LUCKNOW SUPER GIANTS WIN! Super Giants register their first win of the season. Back of a length outside the off-stump, Shashank slapped it hard as he reaches for it and finds deep extra-cover for just one.
19.5 Naveen-ul-Haq to Liam Livingstone, OH! In the air, but doesn't carry to Bishnoi at deep mid-wicket. Slower one, Livingstone mistimed the swipe over mid-wicket for just one.
19.4 Naveen-ul-Haq to Liam Livingstone, brilliant change up again from Naveen. Back of a length outside the off-stump, Livingstone too early to swipe across the line and misses it completely.
Brute force from Liam Livingstone but it's a bit too late for the Punjab Kings now.
19.3 Naveen-ul-Haq to Liam Livingstone, SIX MORE! Too late this for Punjab. Pace off, short and into the deck hard, Livingstone hangs back and swatted it into the sight screen for a maximum this time.
19.2 Naveen-ul-Haq to Liam Livingstone, FOUR MORE! That went flat, goes one bounce into the ropes. Length delivery outside the off-stump, Livingstone reaches and spanked it over extra-cover for another boundary. Livingstone minimizing the damage!
19.1 Naveen-ul-Haq to Liam Livingstone, SIX! BOOM! Angled the length delivery on the off-stump. Livingstone presses and picks it up to dispatch it way over deep backward square-leg for a maximum.
19.1 Naveen-ul-Haq to Liam Livingstone, WIDE! Excellent change of pace, but it was banged it into the track and goes well over the batter's head, umpire calls that a wide.
Livingstone smacked a short ball that was probably going all the way but smashed straight into the Spidercam instead. So, it'll be a dead ball. Annoying, to say the least.
Well, that will be that. It's mathematically not possible for the Punjab Kings to win this now, unless we witness something bizarre, of course.

18.6 Krunal Pandya to Liam Livingstone, spears a full delivery outside the off-stump. Livingstone reaches and carves it to deep covers. Bishnoi lightning quick again, gets around to keep them for one.
