In the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) season of 2013–14, Jitesh made his Vidarbha team debut owing to his impressive Cooch Behar Trophy exploits.

In February 2014, Sharma made his List-A debut at Jaipur against Rajasthan. For Vidarbha's first few seasons, he was a leading player. But Sharma's career took a significant turn in 2015–16 when he performed extremely well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
