Melbourne Stars won the match by 6 wickets
Pretty one-sided affair as it turned out. The Melbourne Stars were fearless with their batting intent. Glenn Maxwell came to open the batting for his side and was magnificent with his strokeplay. He didn't take much time to dismantle the bowling attack. In fact, he hit the very first ball which he faced for a maximum over the bowler's head. It seemed like he was all ready for this. The bowlers have to be accurate with their lines and lengths against him, especially the spinners. He's a terrific player of spin and can play those switch hits whenever required.
Joe Clarke looked really good in the minimal time which he batted. Josh Lalor had the last laugh in the first over. Despite the early wickets, the Stars never looked under pressure. They always tried to put the pressure back on the bowler. The target was such that even the Renegades had no answers to that. They were already defending a small total and the way Maxwell was batting, the bowling side was never in the game.
That's a wrap from this contest as I, Suraj Jajoo, along with my co-commentator, Abhishek, bid adeau at the moment. Stay tuned for more BBL action here on Sportskeeda. Till then, take care. Ciao!

14.3 Zahir Khan to Glenn Maxwell, FOUR! Melbourne Stars win by 6 wickets! Short and into the leg stump line as Maxwell slog sweeps that one past the onrushing square leg fielder who watches the ball go past the boundary.
14.2 Zahir Khan to Glenn Maxwell, full and into the legs as Maxwell goes for the reverse slog sweep but it misses the bat, pad, and the 'keeper for a FOUR!
14.1 Zahir Khan to Glenn Maxwell, short and into the fifth stump line as Maxwell elevates this one past the midwicket fielder inside the circle who dives for the cameras. That would have been some catch.

13.2 Cameron Boyce to Glenn Maxwell, a length delivery into the off stump line, Maxwell hangs back and slaps that one strongly in the cow corner region. It looks like the ball will race away to the boundary but the fielder from deep midwicket does good enough to get his dive in time and prevent two runs. FIFTY UP FOR MAXWELL!

Massive breakthrough for Renegades, Cartwright departs! Not sure how much will this affect as far as this game is concerned. However, something to cheer for Richardson.
