Thanks a lot for joining us- Arya Sekhar Chakraborty, Rajarshi Das and Mohul Bhowmick- for this rather lopsided game in the WBBL. Later on in the day, I, Mohul, will bring another WBBL game to you (between Brisbane Heat and Adelaide Strikers) with Soumarya Dutta whereas the coverage for the World Cup is already underway. You know what to do! Until next time, goodbye!
Perth Scorchers Women beat Melbourne Renegades Women by 10 wickets!
Sophie Devine 70* (36) | Amy Edgar 2-14 Georgia Wareham 57* (46) | Taneale Peschel 1-21
Sophie Devine and Beth Mooney made the chase look extremely easy for the Scorchers as they managed to win this game without any casualties whatsoever.
Mooney was perhaps the more delicate of the two whereas Devine was confident of going hammers and tongs at the Renegades bowlers from the get-go.
The Renegades bowlers were put under pressure right from the beginning as Devine tore into them and gave them no room for error at all. It is not easy to bowl to someone like Devine, and they were punished mightily owing to their poor showing.
The Renegades will be extremely disappointed with themselves owing to this showing of theirs and hope to improve in the other games that are about to come.
As for the Scorchers, they were able to win this game with 52 balls to spare- that is as convincing a victory as any! Sophie Devine, rightly so, bags another player of the match award!
11.2 Hayley Matthews to Sophie Devine, that'll be it! Matthews fires this one in on a short of length outside off, Devine, having picked the length early, goes for a swipe across the line, doesn't quite time it, but still manages to hit it over the circle at mid on for the winning run! The Scorchers make really light work of this run-chase - racing to 134 with 52 deliveries and 10 wickets remaining!
The scores are level now!
11.1 Hayley Matthews to Sophie Devine, SIX! That one actually came off the toe end - doesn't matter! Fired in on a full length just outside off, Devine gives it a thump through the line, and clears the fielder and ropes at long on once again!
Hayley Matthews [2-0-12-0] is back into the attack.
The Scorchers are almost there. They should be able to get there in this over itself if they manage to bat in the same vein of form. The Renegades are struggling.

10.6 Sarah Coyte to Sophie Devine, pitched up, drilled down to long on for a run
10.5 Sarah Coyte to Sophie Devine, SIX MORE! Full, right in the slot for Devine, who goes for the slog. Doesn't quite get all of it, but has enough to clear the woman and the ropes at long on!
10.5 Sarah Coyte to Sophie Devine, wide, down the leg side
Coyte will not want to bowl there, not to Devine of all people!
10.4 Sarah Coyte to Sophie Devine, SIX! Full toss on leg stump, Devine, with all the time in the world, pumps it over the mid wicket region!
10.3 Sarah Coyte to Beth Mooney, on a length around off, Mooney drops this one towards short mid wicket, the batters rush through for a quick run as Coyte fields off her own bowling and has a shy at the bowler's
10.2 Sarah Coyte to Sophie Devine, fires the yorker in on leg stump, Devine is struck on the leg trying to keep it out. Just a single
10.2 Sarah Coyte to Sophie Devine, wide, FOUR! Poor, very poor from Coyte! Full, down leg, Devine can't reach it with her sweep, neither can the keeper, and the ball races away to the ropes
10.1 Sarah Coyte to Beth Mooney, full, down leg from round the wicket. Mooney was struck on the pads trying to flick it away. The batters get a leg bye to the woman at short fine
Sarah Coyte [1-0-20-0] is back into the attack.
THE POWER SURGE HAS BEEN TAKEN!
Time for a drink! Both Mooney and Devine are going great guns. They will want to chase these runs down as quickly as possible in order to increase their net run rate.
