They made it just a touch difficult for themselves towards the latter stages of the run-chase, but the Micoud Eagles were past the line eventually! And it was all thanks to the start provided by their openers, more specifically, Mervin Wells! Shervin Charles gave him good company as the right-hander took down the bowlers in the powerplay, providing the Eagles with the perfect start to the chase.

Despite a couple of economical overs at the end of the powerplay, the Eagles were well ahead. Wells kept finding the boundary in the middle overs, running well between the wickets as well. Dexter Solomon, having been handed the ball in the 8th over with the game well out of the Raiders' grasp, picked up two quick wickets and delayed the inevitable. Murray Sammy took a while after that, but ensured that he got his team past the line all by himself.
