Match Summary: Glamorgan beat Middlesex by 29 runs!
Chris Cooke 113* (41) | Peter Hatzoglou 2/28 (4) Joe Cracknell 77 (42) | Blake Cullen 2/23 (4)
447 runs across 40 overs and that was a run-fest of the highest order on display here in Northwood. For large parts of the chase, it seemed as though Middlesex would cruise through to the finish line despite having to chase 239 thanks to Chris Cooke's stellar maiden T20 century and Colin Ingram's blistering unbeaten 92 that powered Glamorgan along after a shaky start.
Stephen Eskinazi watched from the best seat in the house as Joe Cracknell cracked the ball to all corners of the park. Anything loose was not to be spared as both openers tore into the seamers in the powerplay and ransacked 77 runs off the powerplay while going unscathed. Cracknell did most of the damage although skipper Eskinazi wasn't to be left far behind as he joined in on the act himself. 129 runs came off the first 10 overs and the frustration was clearly seen on the field as Glamorgan were clutching at straws.
The pitch was a proper highway and had no assistance for the bowlers. Peter Hatzoglou looked to cut off the scoring shots and after a string of deliveries that denied the openers a boundary, he managed to get Cracknell out stumped. That set Glamorgan on their way with Prem Sisodiya joining in with Eskinazi's wicket soon after. Once Max Holden holed out to a stunner from Eddie Byrom, Middlesex were suddenly entering dicey territory as the asking rate shot up.
Hatzoglou wasn't done just yet as he continued to keep it very simple and fired it into a good length to keep the batters on their toes. He duly finished with another wicket against his name and once the seamers attempted their yorkers and bowled to their field, the equation got completely out of hand. Ryan Higgins struck a couple of lusty blows towards the end but it was all but a consolation with Middlesex falling comfortably short in the end. That they still finished with 209 ought to tell you how big a task they had on hand with just far too many runs to get.
The result puts Glamorgan back to winning ways as they join Surrey on four points in the South Group. As for Middlesex, it just keeps getting worse as they suffer their fourth loss on the trot. They remain at the bottom of the group and simply need a miracle to revive their campaign hereon.
They fought hard and were in command of the chase but alas, they just lost their way there. Great effort by Middlesex but they have to settle for second best in an absolute run-fest at the Merchant Taylors' School Ground.

19.6 Jamie McIlroy to Jack Davies, low full toss as he attempts a yorker on off stump. Davies shovels it out to long off and picks up a single alone. It won't be enough though and despite their best efforts, Middlesex fall short! Glamorgan win by 29 runs!
Final ball coming up...
19.5 Jamie McIlroy to Ryan Higgins, banged in short on leg stump. Higgins heaves it to long leg for a lone run
This will certainly help reduce the damage to their net run-rate alright!
19.4 Jamie McIlroy to Ryan Higgins, SIX! BOOM! In the slot on middle and leg stump. Higgins holds his shape and launches it high and handsome over the wide long on fence for six
19.3 Jamie McIlroy to Ryan Higgins, FOUR! Misses the yorker as he goes too full on leg stump. Higgins clears his front leg and uses his wrists to power it behind square on the leg-side and into the gap for four
19.2 Jamie McIlroy to Ryan Higgins, outstanding yorker tailing into middle and off stump. Higgins can only jam it back to the bowler's right, no run
19.1 Jamie McIlroy to Jack Davies, very full outside the off stump. Davies drills the ball down to long off for a single alone
Outstanding effort from Root and full marks to his commitment to go for the catch despite the result being a foregone conclusion. Just the final rites remain now. Middlesex require 43 runs to win off the final over!

18.6 Danny Douthwaite to Ryan Higgins, FOUR! JUST SHORT! Full on leg stump as Higgins brings out a lovely pick-up shot behind square on the leg-side. Billy Root charges in and dives forward attempting the catch but it just falls shy of him before threading him to the ropes
18.5 Danny Douthwaite to Ryan Higgins, tails a yorker back into middle and off stump. Right on the money as Higgins shovels it back to the bowler
18.5 Danny Douthwaite to Ryan Higgins, WIDE! Spills it down the leg-side as he loses his line. The bowler must reload
18.4 Danny Douthwaite to Jack Davies, very full outside the off stump. Davies slices the ball towards extra cover and picks up a single
18.3 Danny Douthwaite to Ryan Higgins, full on off stump. Higgins chips it with an extension of the arms to long on for one
18.2 Danny Douthwaite to Jack Davies, OH! Walks across his stumps attempting a sweep. Strikes Davies low around the off stump though as it rolls in front of square on the leg-side for a leg bye
