211 was always going to be challenging. And when a side loses 3 wickets within the first 6 overs, during the powerplay, when the field restrictions are going on - history of this format tells us that it becomes very difficult for the batting side to win that game. It was not the best of starts for Telangana but they decided to go down fighting.

Their skipper, Dilshan Munaweera was joined by a very prominent figure in Ricardo Powell to get the chase underway but both of them departed rather cheaply as Peter Trego continued his good form with the bat into his bowling exploits as well. SS Bharath, who was expensive during his 2 over bowling spell that yielded 37 runs, began the counter-attack with 4 fours and a six in his 15 ball stay at the crease that saw him score 27 runs.

Ravi Kumar accelerated further with his 27 ball 43 run effort that witnessed 3 fours and as many sixes. Manpreet Gony also showed his dexterity with the wooden handle as he landed big blows. Amit Sanan was the best bowler for the Mumbai Champions who finished with 2 for 26 from his 4 overs. Not to forget Peter Trego who executed an all-round show for the winning side.
