That's all from us then. Thank you for joining us- Sooryanarayanan Sesha, Pratyush Rohra and Mohul Bhowmick- for this absolute humdinger! We hope you enjoyed it. You can switch tabs to catch all the action from the second of the double header coming your way. Until next time, goodbye!
Deepti Sharma is the Player of the Match.: (thoughts at the backend of the innings) I knew Sophie is playing with me and we can both hit the ball. We were confident that we can take it till the end and finish the job. That's what we did. The pitch got slightly better to bat on with the ball skidding on. It was a bit tough initially with some turn, but we held our own with the batting. The bowlers did well and the batters got the job done too. (Dressing room atmosphere) We've been talking about carrying on from the positives and focus on them. Play as a unit and back each other. That was the same for me too, to try and take the team to the finish line.
Alyssa Healy: It got close in the end but full credit to our girls for hanging in there and getting the job done. It was an important win for us to get some momentum heading into the last two games. From that point of view, super happy with the girls today. We bowled really well today, and getting over the line with the bat is all that matters sometimes. (Toss) Not sure how much it played a part. Don't think it was as important as the people made it out to be. We executed our plans really well. Parshavi coming in was great today in four overs, conceding a few unlucky boundaries. I think she bowled brilliantly today. We've got a really good bowling unit and if the pitches continue to detoriate, we could fancy our chances of going all the way if we get through to the playoffs.
UP Warriorz Women beat Mumbai Indians Women by 5 wickets!
This game see-sawed until the very end, but ended up going the way of the UP Warriorz. Mumbai Indians lost their perfect record in the competition today, and of all teams, UP Warriorz managed to become the side to put one over them.
Harmanpreet Kaur tried her best to marshal her troops and ensure that the batting side did not face any predictability, but sadly, things did not go her way. She shuffled her bowlers well, and made sure that everyone got an equal opportunity to showcase their wares. It came down to the last over, which Issy Wong was allocated to bowl.
She managed to sneak in a couple of dot balls off the first two, but Englishwoman Sophie Ecclestone struck a lusty blow off the third delivery to win this game for her side! Earlier in the innings, Tahlia McGrath and Grace Harris had played top-notch knocks.
If not for these knocks, the game would have been rather tough for the Warriorz to wrap up. Fortunately for them, they had the experienced duo of Deepti Sharma and Sophie Ecclestone to finish things off. In the process, the Warriorz became the first team to defeat the Mumbai Indians in this competition!
Ecclestone finishes things off in style! Calm and composed, the England international does the job for her side. UP Warriorz become the first team to defeat the Mumbai Indians in the Tata WPL 2023!

Issy Wong to Sophie Ecclestone, SIX! ECCLESTONEHASTHELASTLAUGH! UP WARRIORZHAVETHELASTLAUGH! Mumbai Indians' winning streak is broken! It was a low full toss on the off-stump line, Ecclestone sits deep in her crease and pumps this back over the bowler's head to clear the ropes to seal the deal! Deepti Sharma and Sophie Ecclestone embrace with a hug. You won't see that everyday. UP Warriorz win by 5 wickets and get a crucial win at the right time!
Another dot ball! The pressure is on Ecclestone.

Issy Wong to Sophie Ecclestone, huge cheers to greet a dot ball first up! Full and outside the off-stump, Ecclestone swings and misses
Issy Wong [2-0-18-1] will bowl the last over of this game.
Five runs to get off the last over! It is to Mumbai's great credit that they have managed to take this game down to the last over. The Warriorz will be pleased that they can get this done with a big hit, but it remains to be seen if they will resort to it.

Hayley Matthews to Sophie Ecclestone, pushes this one out full and wide outside off. Ecclestone bunts it to long-off and takes the single on offer
Good calling and understanding between the two batters! Mumbai wanted to check if there was an lbw chance there as well, but unfortunately, they get neither the run out nor the lbw chance to go their way.

Hayley Matthews to Deepti Sharma, tight run but Ecclestone probably made it home! On the good length at the middle stump, Deepti shuffles across for a paddle to short fine leg for a quick single. Well, MI believe that Deepti didn't get bat on it, so they've reviewed it for an lbw. That will be checked first. It seemed like Deepti hadn't hit it but UltraEdge confirms a spike as the ball passed the toe-end. Even the runout replay confirms Ecclestone is comfortably home. Not out! Eventful ball, all for a single.
Williams is bowling full and wide outside off. This was helping her cause but not anymore. Deepti picked that up with ease and grace!

Hayley Matthews to Deepti Sharma, FOUR! That takes the pressure off! Matthews drags this one short and that allows Deepti to pick her spot. Stays in her crease to smack this down the ground to find the ropes on the bounce
