A resounding victory where Limassol Zalmi have barely put a foot wrong. From start to finish, they've been the only team to have turned up on the park today with a belligerent display of batting seeing them post a mammoth total of 174, which proved to be way beyond the reach of the Nicosia Fighters.

A dramatic first ball saw a catching chance and a run out opportunity go abegging. That aside though, there was barely a blemish as far as Zalmi's defense was concerned. They kept things tight relative to the asking rate, which only increased exponentially with each passing over and it resulted in a spurt of wickets, with Furqan Muhammad shutting the door firmly on Zalmi with a hat-trick in the third over. With the dangerous Abdullah Al Tasmin being one of those wickets, it was going to take something ridiculously brilliant for the Fighters to get even close.

Alas, that never came their way, even as Kamrul Mahmud waged a lone battle and scored 42. The batters were just going through the motions at one point though with the bowlers not missing a beat and getting it spot on with regards to their radar. The contest already reached a point where the result was a foregone conclusion and despite some boundaries coming off Ramjan Hossain's bat towards the end, the Fighters fell comfortably short of their target with Zalmi romping home by a massive margin.

This result sees the Fighters continue to languish at the bottom with yet another defeat and they're all but out of contention for qualification. As for Zalmi, this could just infuse the kind of momentum they need to start peaking at the right time and there's nothing like a convincing victory such as this to get them going.

Just a run shy of 100 in the end and it's a good second half to the innings as far as the Fighters are concerned. Either way, they've fallen incredibly short of the target and it's a thumping victory for Zalmi. Limassol Zalmi win by 75 runs!
