WOWW! We have had the most dramatic finish to a game in the tournament here and the Jersey based Old Victorians have won it by the barest of all margins. Hassan Ahmed was struck on the pads on the final ball of the innings and he collided with the bowler Sumerauer while trying to steal the single. He never completed the run as he was down on the ground and the Victorians didn't run him out either. The umpires had a 5 minute long conversation and in the end , they decided to award the game to the Old Victorians.

Shahrukh Nawaz did really well early on as he gave the Brescia the start that they needed and kept them in the game. Zac Wilson pegged them on the backfoot with three wickets in his two overs spell and that was the turning point in the game. Asad Tanveer played an unbelievable cameo as he pounced on to some poor bowling by Simpson and took him on for 24 runs.

In the end the Brescia side need 7 runs from the final over and Sumerauer was unbelievable at the death as he held his nerve to clinch the win. A word of appreciation also needs to be given for James Duckett, the Victorians skipper who bowled some tough overs and picked up a wicket. Overall, it's not really the finish that we would have wanted but it's the European Cricket Series at the end of the day and the most unbelievable things happen here.

9.6 Julius Sumerauer to Hassan Ahmad, THIS IS ABSOLUTE CHAOS OUT IN THE MIDDLE!! yorker length and Hassan dugs it out, the ball hits his bat and then the pads before rolling on to the off-side, they go for a run and THERE IS A HUGE COLLISIION BETWEEN HASSAN ALI AND JULIUS, Hassan went straight down to the ground and the run was not completed. The umpires have had long a discussion with both the teams and they have come to the conclusion that the ball will be counted and the run will not be given. So, as a result, Old Victorians win by 1 run.
