That brings us to the end of a memorable series. The one which will stay close to the hearts of the West Indies fans for a while to come. Among other things, it will be remembered for being a series where left-arm spinners had a ball. Jomel Warrican, Gudakesh Motie and Noman Ali — all have had a great couple of weeks.
According to Shan Masood, this loss should not deter Pakistan from continuing with the plan of producing raging turners. Although for now, their attention would shift to the ODI format with a tri-series set to begin in about 10 days time. And then, of course, we will have the Champions Trophy next. There was always going to be a ball with your name. Hence, we needed to be brave. It was good to see the boys going through with the plan. It was important to keep that mindset. It was a great Test. Jomel (Warrican) always says that he is the best player of off spin in the Caribbean. Him and (Gudakesh) Motie made valuable contributions. Good to see Jomel pick up a fifer too. He has been in and out of the side for quite a bit. The wickets have been tough to bat on. But it has been quite an experience."
Shan Masood [Pakistan captain]: The only option was left in that was, bringing in the fast bowler to have a crack at it. Problem has been cleaning up the tail, we've seen that in South Africa and Australia, that has been the problem. Even in the lost game right now, we were in position to win. Just one bad performance won't wipe out all the hard work. Even when you fail, you get an opportunity to learn, it's about taking forward. It's game of all stakeholders, appreciate players by being thrown into conditions they are not accustomed to. We've won three matches of the four games. We were dominating the first hour of this test match too. We've seen encouraging signs, Saud got his fifty, even when I got the fifty, Babar played quite proactively as well yesterday. It's more about partnerships, it's all about those 30s and 40s, they contribute in helping win the team. Kraigg Brathwaite's knock was prime example.
Jomel Warrican is the Player of the Match and is also the Player of the Series! Here's what he has to say: "Spin is more important, the slower you bowl, the more effective it is. I used to my advantage. I just backed my game plan, I trusted my defence and rotated the strike when needed. Just believe, trust in your game plan, backed to win the game, once we batted well, we gave ourselves chance to win the game. Just variations and pace, hitting the same lengths, consistency is key."

The last time West Indies won a Test match in Pakistan, Imran Khan, Gordon Greenidge and Malcolm Marshal were still a part of the playing XI for their respective sides. Pakistan were yet to win the World Cup. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were not even born. Hence, this victory is a very very special one for the Men in Maroon. Let's not forget, they were 38/7 on Day 1. But once again, the lower order bailed them out. Gudakesh Motie scored a half century that he will be telling his grandkids about. Jomel Warrican and Kemar Roach too made valuable contributions and got their team to a respectable total.
Then, the trio turned the heat on with the ball too and bundled the hosts out for 9 runs less than what West Indies had managed in the first innings. The skipper then stepped up in the second innings with an imposing fifty that the set the tone for West Indies to register the highest score of the series. Amir Jangoo, Tevin Imlach and Kevin Sinclair chipped in with valuable contributions. The visitors exhibited some really positive intent throughout. They punished every lose ball and ran like cheetahs between the wickets. As a result, Pakistan were set a stiff target on a wicket which offered a lot of purchase for the spinners.
Despite steadfast knocks from Babar and Rizwan, Pakistan never felt like being in the hunt. Warrican once again stood out with his guileful bowling. He used the angles well, got the ball to loop and drift in to pitch in the right areas and often, the surface did the rest. The odd ball held on with the arm, a few turned a mile. Of course, it was hard work for the batters. But Tevin Imlach, behind the wickets, looked unfazed. It is hard to recall a fumble from him on what was a raging turner. Pakistan needed something special today. However, the only considerable act of resistance was put up by Rizwan and Salman, who stitched together a 39 run partnership. Wickets fell quickly on either side of it. In the end, West Indies win by a comfortable margin of 120 runs. Special mention for Noman Ali, who became the first spinner to take a hat-trick for Pakistan in Test cricket.
WARRICAN HAS A FIFER!! He brings out the John Cena celebration and follows it up with the thigh-five to bid Sajid Khan goodbye. This is a victory that West Indies will remember for a long long time.
