With that another day in ECS France 2024 comes to fruition. But the action will continue tomorrow and so will our coverage of it. Do join us. Until then, Darpan Tikiya and Mohul Bhowmick bid you goodbye on the behalf of the entire Sportskeeda commentary team.
Paris Université Club win by 4 runs.
Paris Université Club 94/7 (10 overs) President XI 90/6 (10 overs)
We mentioned in the innings break that if PUC are to win this, they will have to be top-notch with the ball. And, indeed they were.
The skipper led from the front. William Singh bowled 2 overs, conceded merely 5 runs, not a single boundary and picked up two important wickets. In a format that is usually dominated by the bat, teams will bite your hand off for a performance like that. In the end, the margin for victory is merely 4 runs. Hence, that effort is that much more spectacular.
Mind also goes back to the last ball six hit by Abdullah Anwari and how crucial did it turn out to be eventually. Tahseenullah Saifi's all-round performance as well as Zafar Iqbal's first over are worth mentioning as well.
President XI will be kicking themselves. They seemed to be cruising with 3 overs remaining before William Singh came back to turn it around. Spare a thought for their bowlers who did almost everything right.
But that is how it is in cricket. A bit of complacency and you can go down.

9.6 Abdullah Anwari to Ikbal Hossain, SIX BUT PUC WIN THIS GAME! Fullish and wide outside off, moves away. Hossain manages to carve it up and over cover for a maximum but it does not matter!
Don't bowl a wide or a no ball now.
9.5 Abdullah Anwari to Ikbal Hossain, FOUR FIRST BALL! Full and wide outside off, moves away. Hossain hangs back and carves it up and over cover for a boundary!
Cannessane is out on 49. Now, they need 2 sixes to tie the match. Ikbal Hossain, RHB, is the new batter. Can he deliver?
9.4 Abdullah Anwari to Lingeswaran Cannessane, WICKET! At a length on off and middle, slower delivery. Lingeswaran hangs back and tries to slog it towards long on. However, he does not time it too well and ends up hitting it straight to the fielder stationed there!
Lingeswaran Canessane c Zika Ali b Abdullah Anwari 49 (27, 5x4, 3x6)
The first half of the over has gone exactly to plan. 3 runs and a wicket off it. 13 runs to win off 3 balls now.
9.3 Abdullah Anwari to Lingeswaran Cannessane, at a length and wide outside off. Lingeswaran manages to whip it to long on for a couple of runs.
9.2 Abdullah Anwari to Rahmatullah Mangal, full toss on off and middle. Mangal pulls it to midwicket for a single.
President XI are bottling it. Out comes Rahmatullah Mangal, RHB, to try and save it for them.
9.1 Abdullah Anwari to Jubaid Ahmed, GONE FIRST BALL! At a length and wide outside off, moves away. Ahmed tries to carve it up and over cover but does not connect too well. The ball balloons up in the air for the fielder at cover to take!
Jubaid Ahamed c William Singh b Abdullah Anwari 1 (4b, 0x4, 0x6)
16 runs to win off the last over. Abdullah Anwari [1-0-14-0] to bowl.
PUC have done really well to take this match into the final over. Let alone the fact that they go into it with the momentum firmly on their side.

8.6 Tahseenullah Safi to Lingeswaran Cannessane, FOUR! SHOT! Short of a length on middle and leg. Lingeswaran pulls it away up and over midwicket for a boundary!
8.5 Tahseenullah Safi to Lingeswaran Cannessane, fullish and a tad wide outside off. Lingeswaran comes down the track, heaves at it but misses.
Cannessane was off the blocks even before the ball was bowled. A Mankad style run out opportunity could be looming.
8.4 Tahseenullah Safi to Jubaid Ahmed, at a length outside off, moves away. Ahmed taps it to cover for a single.
8.3 Tahseenullah Safi to Jubaid Ahmed, back of a length and wide outside off. Ahmed can only pat it to the off side.
