Right then, the action now shifts to Melbourne as the Renegades host the Stars in what will be Aaron Finch's final game of the BBL. Do switch tabs and join us for that one then, friends. For now, this is the pair of Rudransh and Bidipto taking your leave. Keep following Sportskeeda!
Perth Scorchers win by 35 runs with 1 ball to spare!
Nick Hobson 48* (30) | Andrew Tye - 4/14 (3.5) Jimmy Peirson 42 (41) | Michael Neser - 2/21 (3)
The absence of some of the big names with the bat in the Heat line-up and the superb defense of the runs by the Scorchers bowlers handed the visitors their first loss of the season!
Jimmy Peirson, who made a return to the Heat playing XI, played an excellent hand but ran out of partners and ideas as the pressure increased through the middle phase of the innings.
Only Josh Brown and Max Bryant were the other two batters able to reach double digits. The rest of the batting was pretty disappointing, to say the least!
The Power Surge was taken at a slightly inappropriate time with two relatively new batters at the crease, having to smash their way out of trouble. But, those two overs went for only 13 runs for the loss of 2 wickets!
With the ball, every bowler used was among the wickets. Andrew Tye and Lance Morris picked up 7 wickets between them, with the former taking 150 wickets for the Scorchers! Four of the five bowlers gave away runs at no more than 6.50 RPO.
With this win, the Scorchers move up to 14 points while the Heat stay on 16. It will be interesting to see if the former can topple the latter for the top spot in the ladder!
19.5 Andrew Tye to Matthew Kuhnemann, OUT AGAIN! AND BRISBANE HEAT HAVE BEEN BOWLED OUT! What a stunning comeback this has been for the Scorchers. Short again on the leg-stump, like Swepson on the last ball, Kuhnemann is cramped for room and pulls it straight to mid on. Perth Scorchers win by 35 runs and take the honors in Round 2!
Matthew Kuhnemann c Sam Whiteman b Andrew Tye 0 (1b, 0x4, 0x6)
Matthew Kuhnemann, LHB, is at the crease.
19.4 Andrew Tye to Mitchell Swepson, CAUGHT AT DEEP SQUARE LEG! Short ball on the leg-stump, rises high on Swepson and gets big on him, taking the top edge off his hook to Ashton Agar who holds onto it!
Mitchell Swepson c Ashton Agar b Andrew Tye 4 (3b, 1x4, 0x6)
19.3 Andrew Tye to Mitchell Swepson, short and slow outside the off-stump, swings and misses
19.2 Andrew Tye to Mitchell Swepson, FOUR! Where did that come from? Short on the off-stump, makes room and thumps it down the ground!
Mitchell Swepson, RHB, is at the crease.
19.1 Andrew Tye to Xavier Bartlett, CAUGHT! Slow and in the slot on the middle stump, Bartlett hoicks it to mid-wicket, gets it off the middle but not all of it, deep mid-wicket slides in and takes a clean and stylish catch!
Xavier Bartlett c Nick Hobson b Andrew Tye 3 (7b, 0x4, 0x6)
Andrew Tye [3.0-0-10-1] comes back into the attack.
Last over coming up and the Heat have done themselves no favour here. On the flip side, the Scorchers have been terrific in their defense after some good ball striking towards the end of their innings! By the way, there has been a short run in the last delivery of the over. Five penalty runs have been awarded to the Perth Scorchers after the batters were running senselessly in the final ball of the 19th over, without touching down at either end!

18.6 Aaron Hardie to Spencer Johnson, OH NO! Short on the leg-stump, comes down the ground looking to hook it but gets it off the top edge to fine leg. A big mix-up in the middle and don't know who sends back who but it's a dot ball.
18.5 Aaron Hardie to Spencer Johnson, full outside the off-stump, swings it down the ground but misses
Spencer Johnson, LHB, is at the crease.
This has very much sealed the deal for the Scorchers. With Bryant gone, the home team will actually keep their hopes alive of reaching the final directly!
18.4 Aaron Hardie to Max Bryant, OUT! LBW! That's plumb. Nails the yorker on the middle stump, it stretches in length, Bryant looks to hoick it to deep square leg but misses and gets hit on pad just above the toe.
He reviews it but it's just a formality. No edge. Bryant starts walking away already. It's THREE REDS!
Max Bryant lbw b Aaron Hardie 29 (17b, 1x4, 2x6)
Three twos have to be followed by a couple of boundaries now, at least!
18.3 Aaron Hardie to Max Bryant, wide slower one outside the off-stump, drives it in the air. Agar covers it but slips a couple of times to allow two again
18.2 Aaron Hardie to Max Bryant, short outside the off-stump, pulls it without timing but in the gap between deep square leg and mid-wicket for a couple
18.1 Aaron Hardie to Max Bryant, full outside the off-stump, crashes the big drive and the covers fielder doesn't hold on to it, allows a couple
Aaron Hardie [3.0-0-16-0] comes back into the attack.
Only two overs to go now. The Heat need another 41 runs. This over has to go big for them. This over has to go for at least 15 runs to keep them in the hunt.
