Himachal Pradesh are our first finalists, having played superior T20 cricket in the first semi-final. So that will be all from the Eden Gardens for now, but join us again in a little more than an hour and a half as the second semi-final between Mumbai and Vidarbha gets underway at the same iconic venue! Rishi Dhawan, Himachal Pradesh captain: It is a great feeling to be part of this set-up, our first final of this tournament! We played some fantastic cricket, the team has gelled well together, they players have played a lot together and can cope up with the pressure of playing in different situations now. We knew that after the couple of washouts, we could not afford any slip-up, and played according to that. We play as a team, and the team game brings a lot of success for us, where any player can step up to the plate and make it count.

Akash Vasisht: We are playing really good cricket, executing our plans, being flexible and taking advantage of the opportunities. My game is pretty simple, I try to read the situation and bat accordingly, and with the ball, the idea is always to bowl to the fields and keep it tight. There is plenty to learn from someone as experienced as Rishi Dhawan, we take a lot of inputs from him and to be honest, there isn't a bigger player in Himachal right now than him!

This has been a terrific win for Himachal Pradesh! Against a star-studded Punjab line-up, the Himachal bowlers and fielders stuck to the their task, applied the pressure, maintained it and got the job done. They are in the final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for the first time! It will be the Eden Gardens itself where they play the big match!

Shubman Gill played well to get to 45 and was even given a couple of lives, but his wicket was always going to be the key. Once Himachal got it, they were all over Punjab, not allowing them to break free again. Abhishek Sharma failed today with the bat. Anmolpreet Singh tried hard, but fell to the pressure that got created. And towards the end, to make matters interesting, Mandeep Singh, the skipper of Punjab, along with, Ramandeep Singh, the hard-hitting all-rounder, threatened to take the game away from Himachal. Ramandeep played some stunning shots to take the game deep. But the issue was with the decision of sending out young Pukhraj Mann as the Impact Player, who couldn't quite get going, chewed deliveries, and there were some quality batters sitting in the dug-out.

With the ball, captain Rishi Dhawan led the way with 3 wickets for only 25 runs and got great support KD Singh and Mayank Dagar. Akash Vasisht too chipped in with a wicket off his solitary over. The fielding from Himachal Pradesh was iffy at times, but on the whole, they were desperate enough to save as many runs as they could.
