Hello everyone! Welcome to Sportskeeda's ongoing live coverage of the International League T20, 2025! Sharjah Warriorz will host Dubai Capitals in Match 8. Bringing all the action to you from this game at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium is the commentary pair of Bidipto and Arya.
Both teams are on 2 points from 2 matches. While Dubai Capitals' net run rate is slightly better than Sharjah Warriorz's, both are negative at this stage. But a win tonight will see one of these sides go to second in the ladder.
The Warriorz won their first game of the season by 3 wickets off the last ball. Taking Gulf Giants on in Dubai, they restricted the opposition to 174/7. Tim Southee's figures of 3/30 in 4 overs was the pick. In reply, Tom-Kohler Cadmore's 56-ball unbeaten 83 helped them get over the line. He was Player of the Match for this batting performance too. But in their second game against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders at the Shiekh Zayed Stadium, they came second by 30 runs. A target of 160 proved way too much, as the batting line-up folded up in 19.3 overs with Southee top-scoring! Adil Rashid's 2/14 in 4 overs got wasted in the end.
The Capitals played both their matches against MI Emirates. They won the first one in Dubai, by a solitary run but lost the other in Abu Dhabi by 26 runs. At the Dubai International Stadium, Scott Brandon McMullen's half-century and experienced Afghan Gulbadin Naib's 3/13 in 4 overs handed them victory by the barest of margins. They managed to defend only 133 runs, somehow! However, in the return fixture, giving away 187 runs with the ball proved costly for them, as even a superb 101-run knock off 59 deliveries by West Indian Shai Hope was not enough to chase the runs down. Gulbadin impressed again though, with ball in hand, taking 3 wickets for 18 runs in 3 overs.
This is the first match of the season here in Sharjah. So, we are all really excited to see how the pitch plays and the outfield behaves! Be out guests for the next few hours friends, as we tell you about everything that unfolds in this contest. Which team takes two points then? Let's find out! Toss and team news are coming up.
