Niki Prasad (captain, India Women's U-19): All of us just tried to stay calm and stuck to doing what our job is. If we would have won the toss, I would have chosen to bat. But we have bowled well throughout so no regrets. All the credits go to the support staff for nurturing the young guys and nurturing us. (About missing out on the last World Cup) I am feeling very happy, standing here ensuring India stays on top. Coming into the tournament, I said that we wanted to dominate and do a fine job. The South African did a great job, we have playing against them for a long time, the way they have been playing it has been really nice to play against them and compete

Kayla Reyneke (captain, South Africa Women's U-19): I don't know, there are a lot of emotions going on. I'll not take anything away from this team. Thank you to everyone who organised the event, it was very good. I couldn't have asked for a better team. Special mention to the team management. It is a proud and special moment, I always want the best for my team, could have done it without them and without the management. There is a Phoneix in ourselves and we'll come back stronger in the next World Cup. (on the Indian team) It was a pretty good game, we knew they would come hard at them. Gongadi Trisha is also the Player of the Tournament [309 runs and 7 wickets]! Here's what she has to say: I have no words to express say right now. I would like to dedicate this to my father, he's here. Because of him I started playing cricket, without him I wouldn't' have been in this first place. We've been working on it a while, our batting coach Apoorva sir, he's made sure I open it and asked be ready to be it. I'm always an all-rounder. Playing for my country, winning lot more matches.

Gongadi Trisha is the Player of the Match! Here's what she has to say: It means everything, first of all thank you. Right now I'm not able to express any words. Thanks to my team for supporting me, thanks to the support staffs. Always work on my strengths, bowled to it and followed the same today. Whatever we did in other matches, we continued do the same in this game too. I look up to Mithali di, she's my idol. Everyone should work hard and give their best.

Parunika Sisodia: Back in the hotel rooms, it was nothing related to our bowling and with the game coming on, the bowling came as well. We helped each other. At this point, we just understand each other with eye contact. We just want to look ahead now

Sonam Yadav: We have been champions on both occasions and have no words to express it

Sanika Chalke: This is a surreal feeling, dreamt of this moment for the last two years. Dreamt of hitting the winning runs and thanks to the support staff. Didn't get to bat throughout, but the catches were very crucial. It is a remarkable step in our career and helps us going ahead.

Reigning champions India have done it again, making it two titles in two! They’ve been invincible throughout the tournament and proved why they are the superior team on this finals day. South Africa, opting to bat first, knew they needed to put runs on the board, but things didn’t go according to plan. Jemma Botha started with some big blows, but India quickly put a stop to that. Shabnam sent Botha packing, and Kamalini took a spectacular one-handed stunner. From that point on, it was a struggle for South Africa as they kept losing wickets and ended up posting a meager total of 82.

With such a low total, South Africa needed early wickets to get back into the game. But Trisha and Kamalini had other ideas. They got off to a brisk start, with Trisha in particularly dominant form, hitting boundaries at will. South Africa’s breakthrough came when Reyneke removed Kamalini, but it was too little too late.

Sanika Chalke joined Trisha, and together they continued to find the boundaries with ease. South Africa just couldn’t apply the pressure needed to take regular wickets. It’s been a clinical performance by India in the final—nothing could have been more comprehensive. The reigning champions are the deserved winners of the title!

THAT IS IT! Indian players storm into the field to hug their batters in the middle. Joy for India, agony for South Africa, so close yet to so far for Proteas women!

Monalisa Legodi to Sanika Chalke, FOUR! INDIA WOMEN U19 ARE THE CHAMPIONS AGAIN! THEY DEFEND THEIR TIARA AND SEND THE INDIAN FLAG FLYING HIGH! Length delivery on the line of the of the off stump, Chalke plays it towards deep square leg and the ball races away to the fence for a boundary to bring their World Cup back home. 2023 and 2025 again, the group rises to unprecedented highs.
