Commentary

Nicola Carey (Spirit) captain - It's a wonderful feeling to have two wins under the umbrella. It has been a team effort and all the units delivered their responsibilities. We will hope to continue the streak and can hopefully make the playoffs.

Sana Mir (South Coast Sapphires) Captain- It was an extremely tight contest and could have gone either way. Katherine played a superb innings and the bowlers did a good job. Kudos to Ayabongo (Khaka) for her brilliant spell which took the game away from us at the death. In the end, it was an unfortunate loss but we will take the positives out of this match and bounce back stronger.

Ayabonga Khaka, Player of the Match: It was very good for us as a team. In the end, we pulled through. It was a great wicket to bowl to. A bit sticky, we enjoyed bowling here

A nail-biting contest finally comes to an end with SPI-W clinching the tie by 12 runs. With the contest equally poised till the last moment, it was Ayabonga Khaka's brilliance at the death that sealed the match for SPI-W.

Chasing a comparatively easy target of 122, SCS-W failed to get going early, losing three wickets in the powerplay and managing just 16 runs on the scoreboard. Ayabonga Khaka was once again the star, picking up two early wickets to put SCS-W under pressure right from the go.

It was then the arrival of Katherine Sciver-Brunt which changed the complexion of the game. Brunt combined with Sibona Jimmy and later with Aditi Chudasma to keep SCS-W's hopes alive in the contest but unfortunately couldn't see things through as they fell short of the target by 12 runs.

With the win, SPI-W register their second consecutive victory in as many games while SCS-W remain at the bottom going winless so far.
