That will be all from our side of the coverage. Thank you for tuning in throughout the course of five days. We will be back for the second test starting on 24th July. Until then this is Raghav and Mohul signing off!
Babar Azam (Pakistan Captain): When you win the match, you grow in confidence. All credit to the boys, especially the youngsters. We lost early wickets but the way Saud and Agha played totally changed the game. Agha showed his talent and passion with both bat and ball. As a captain, I am impressed and happy with the performance. It's not easy to bat here but the way Saud played was outstanding.
Dimuth Karunaratne (Sri Lanka Captain): We needed to pass the first session because they have brilliant fast bowlers but we couldn't do so. We should have taken more responsibility and contributed more. We bowled well in patches but leaked runs as well that cost us the match. We need to work on certain areas and improve. DDS has been doing well for us consistently, we need other guys to step up as well.
Saud Shakeel, Player of the Match: Praise be to God. I tried to build partnerships and look for runs. I tried to keep it simple. We have been working on how to play the sweep and reverse sweep and fortunately, it paid off for us. Since I am from Karachi, I am used to playing spin. However, I have also worked hard towards playing it better.
Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets and go 1-0 up in the two-match test series.
Srilanka (1st innnings) -312 all out Pakistan (1st innings) - 461 all out Sri Lanka (2nd innings) - 279 all out Pakistan (2nd innings) - 131/5 Imam ul Haq 50*(84) | Prabath Jayasuriya 3/56(14.5)
What a test match! Five days of competitive cricket between two sides finally comes to an end. Sri Lanka after opting to bat first might have felt that they fell short of a competitive total. However, they started really well with the ball and it felt like the hosts had enough on the board.
Saud Shakeel played a knock for the ages. He was well supported by the lower order, in particular Agha Salman. But, it was his double hundred that stole the show. At one point, Pakistan were 101/5, he dragged their total to a whooping 461 thereby seeking a mammoth 149-run lead for his side.
Sri Lanka could not do much in the next innings. Dhananjaya was once again the only big contributor while all Pakistani bowlers had a fair share of contribution. They could only manage to set up a mere target of 131 after falling to the visitors' spin web.
Chasing 131, Pakistan arrived with no pressure. However, three early wickets gave Sri Lanka some hope. But, Imam held his nerves from the other end. He allowed Babar and Shakeel to play freely from one end while anchoring from the other. Jayasuriya was the lone warrior for Sri Lanka with the ball as the first innings hero Ramesh Mendis did not have the best of the days today. Imam guided his side home with a hard-fought half-century.
Salman seals the deal in style! Comes out to bat, faces one ball and gets his side over the line!
33.0
32.5 Prabath Jayasuriya to Agha Salman, SIX! PAKISTAN WIN THIS GAME! What's the fuss all about, asks Salman. Tossed up outside off, turns away. Salman comes down the track and extends his hands beautifully through the line to send it over the long off fence for a maximum to seal the deal for his country!
Agha Salman, RHB, comes to the crease
Needless shot from Sarfaraz. He tries to finish things off in style but ends up gifting a wicket to Jayasuriya. Sri Lanka continue to delay the inevitable.
32.4 Prabath Jayasuriya to Sarfaraz Ahmed, TAKEN! THIS WAS ON THE CARDS! Sarfaraz was getting a little to anxious to score runs and falls as a result of his lapse in patience. Tossed up outside off, turns away. Sarfaraz sweeps it uppishly straight to the hands of the fielder at square leg for a simple catch!
32.3 Prabath Jayasuriya to Sarfaraz Ahmed, tossed up on off, turns away. Sarfaraz comes down the track and works it to mid on.
32.2 Prabath Jayasuriya to Sarfaraz Ahmed, fullish delivery outside off, turns away. Sarfaraz dances down the track and punches it to cover.
32.1 Prabath Jayasuriya to Sarfaraz Ahmed, flighted delivery on middle and leg. Sarfaraz sweeps it towards short leg, who does well to keep it out!
A bit of a friendly chatter between Sarfaraz and Samarawickrama there.

A leg bye taken as the ball goes towards point. Sri Lanka appeal for lbw but are turned down. They take the review. UltraEdge confirms that there is no bat involved. Ball tracker shows that the impact is outside off as well. Sarfaraz was also rapped outside the 3m mark.
