So we have come to the end of another cliffhanger with SRH coming back to winning ways with a thrilling one run win. Rajasthan dominated the run chase for the majority but it fizzled out towards the end as Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Pat Cummins displayed their skillsets beautifully. The IPL carnival continues with Mumbai Indians slated to lock horns against Kolkata Knight Riders. Do join us then and for loads more sporting action but for now this is me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) signing off also on behalf of my fellow commentator and good mate Pragadeesh.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Player of the Match): I think that's my nature. I was thoughtless in the final over and tried to stick to my basics. Klaasen came up to me and said it looked okay. No discussion at all, was focussed on the process. I was not thinking about the result, if it went to the last ball anything can happen. It was a full toss but he missed it. No it does but again I wasn't thinking about the one fielder up. I was so detached from the result, bowling in my zone was the only thing. It was the first match that the ball swung so much. I literally enjoyed when the ball was swinging. Luckily I got some wickets today. Yes when season started, thought process was totally different but it has changed around.
Pat Cummins (Sunrisers Hyderabad captain): Amazing game or cricket. Yeah in T20 cricket we get used to batters getting it done. Bhuvi really nailed six Yorkers and showed why he is one of the best going around. You try and manage some wickets. The Yorker bowlers did a brilliant job. They were batting brilliantly so it was about sticking to the basics. We knew 200 could be chased down. They batted really well. Nitish is fantastic. Took the first 10 balls to get himself in and then hit the ball everywhere. He also contributed some vital overs.
Riyan Parag gets the award for the most number of fours hit during the match.
Nitish Kumar Reddy also bags the award for most sixes in the match.
Nitish Kumar Reddy is the Ultimate Fantasy Player of the Match.
Heinrich Klaasen gets the Electric Striker of the Match Award.
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony with Murali Kartik.
It turned out to be a dramatic game of cricket and at the end of it all, the Sunrisers Hyderabad snatched victory from the jaws of defeat to get back to winning ways. The match seemed to be heading towards the Rajasthan Royals till the 18th over but Pat Cummins came and bowled an incredible penultimate over which tilted the scales in favour of SRH before Bhuvneshwar Kumar held his nerves and delivered the killer punch in the final over.
The target of 202 was always going to be a tricky one for Rajasthan especially when they lost two quick wickets in the opening over. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was at his incredible best, nicking off Buttler before rattling the stumps of Samson by bringing one back into the Rajasthan captain. From there on, two young guns Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag brought them back in the game with a massive partnership. They made full use of the fielding restrictions and smashed boundaries pretty regularly in the powerplay and continued their good post it.
Parag and Jaiswal complemented each other beautifully and never allowed the required rate to go up. Boundaries kept flowing from the blade of both batters and the asking rate never went above 10. Jaiswal was eventually dismissed after scoring a 40 ball 67 which included 7 fours and a couple of sixes. Riyan Parag continued his good work at the other end as he was joined by Shimron Hetmyer.
Pat Cummins dismissed Riyan Parag on the final delivery of the 16th over which opened up the game and allowing SRH to claw their way back. However some lusty blows from Hetmyer and Rovman Powell got them within touching distance of the victory target. Pat Cummins and Bhuvneshwar showed their class in the last two overs as Hyderabad eventually scraped through by a solitary run. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of the SRH bowlers with three wickets to his name while Par Cummins and T Natarajan bagged a couple of wickets each.
Travis Head: Yes, it was a good win. The one we didn't expect in the middle of the game but Bhuvi and Cummins were classy. The way Pat bowled was superb. He was gutted to give the boundary off his last ball. I thought the we batted was incredible and it was a great score. Nitish batted out of his skin and he has already played a couple of great knocks. We have plenty of good batters in this IPL and it was great to see. It's always nice to win in front of these guys
Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals Captain): Yeah absolutely. We played a few close games this season. Margin for error is very less in IPL but we have to give credit to SRH and the way they kept fighting until the end. Knowing the nature of the IPL, we don't win until we finish it and they have the bowling quality to make things tough. It was tough to hit with the new ball but when the ball gets old, they capitalized very well. Myself and Jos got out in the powerplay but Jaiswal and Parag played responsibly and took the game deep. You have to give credit to them for playing the way we did
Sunrisers Hyderabad wins it by 1 run. That was looking like sliding down and Powell has taken the review. That would have crashed into the leg stump. No bat involved, off to ball tracking and it shows impact in line and wickets hitting. Somehow the Sunrisers have brought the stadium alive and have won it from the jaws of defeat. It never looked SRH were in with a chance two overs prior but a sensational Pat Cummins over brought them back in the game before Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivered the killer punch. A very very good win for the SRH.

19.6 Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Rovman Powell, OUT! THE CROWD GOES WILD BUT POWELL REVIEWS THE LBW DECISION! It looks plumb on the first replay as the ball strikes him on his back pad. SRH players continue to celebrate as they aren't waiting for the ball-tracker. The ball hits the leg-stump in the ball-tracker and SRH Clinch this nail-biter by 1 run. This is why we love cricket, isn't it? Powell, the finisher for RR, misses the juicy full toss that reverses slightly. He swings across the line but the ball strikes him on his back pad.
Rovman Powell lbw b Bhuvneshwar Kumar 27 (15b, 3x4, 1x6)
Powell had injured himself while going for the dive but what matters is he has made his crease.
19.5 Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Rovman Powell, low full toss angling back, Powell clips it in front of square. He runs like a Jamaican sprinter at the moment, times his dive and drags his bat over the line. There is a run-out check but his bat is over the line when the stumps were broken. 2 needed in the final ball but we are in for a slight pause as Powell hurts his forearm.
An exceptional dive from Rovman Powell and he might have got back here. Third umpire will check but he has made the crease quite comfortably in the end. 2 runs needed on the final delivery.
19.4 Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Rovman Powell, WHAT? That was a wayward throw from Samad. It would've been an easy run out if the throw came at the bowler's end. Pitched up on a fuller length and it's driven down to long-off. Oh, Samad what have you done?
This is beautifully played by Powell. He knew there was no fine leg at place and ramps it away in the gap. Just 6 more required off the last three balls.
19.3 Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Rovman Powell, FOUR! Fielding penalty hurts SRH big time here. There's no fine leg and Powell ramps the low full toss behind square for a boundary
