Commentary

Sweden beat Norway by 4 runs!

What a game of T10 cricket we have had here! Niazi was so so close to being the hero for Norway but he's holed out to deep mid-wicket! The game ebbed and flowed throughout! Norway came back from the clutches of defeat to the doorstep of a stunning win but failed to get over the line in the final over!

Norway didn't have the best of starts with the likes of Raza Iqbal and Wahid Ghauri failing to get going in the powerplay overs. Wickets kept tumbling for the batting side with Zahid and Azam Khalil also picking up a few wickets for themselves. However, the turning point was the over from Sami Rahmani, who conceded 30 runs off his only over with Hayatullah Niazi smashing a few sixes off him.

He was given company by Vinay Ravi and Ali Tafseer, whose run-out was perhaps needless in the context of the game. However, this wasn't all. Abhijit Venkatesh brought himself on in the final over ahead of Qudratullah, which seemed like a bad decision for a while. But with five runs needed off the last three balls, Niazi slogged one to Rahmani at deep midwicket to concede the win. In the end, Sweden had to take the long road to a victory but would be thrilled to come out of this fixture on the right side.

All in all, this is what ECC cricket is all about and what T10 cricket is all about! The game is never over until it is officially over!
