None of the batters could get any momentum whatsoever as the wickets kept tumbling one after the other. The openers fell behind the required rate very early and it almost became an impossible task with the asking rate creeping up with every delivery. There was some good hitting in the middle overs by Adhith Rajan who was the top scorer with 22 off 12 deliveries.

Laksitha Senavirathana and Ishantha Kariyawasam were the pick of the bowlers for the Souther Crusaders as they bagged a couple each to put them further on the back foot. The Lions threw the kitchen sink at several deliveries but the timing wasn’t quite there. Eventually, it turned out to be a comprehensive win for them.

They will also look to continue the momentum in their next month against the same opposition. Earlier A solid showing with the bat from the Southern Crusaders which saw them post a commendable 138/1 in their allotted 10 overs.

Basil George and Gopal Thakur stitched together a vital partnership and kept hammering the ball all around the park and the Victoria Lions bowlers were left scratching their head. The 115-run partnership meant that they posted a gigantic 139 on the board.

It was always going to be a tough ask for the Victoria Lions to harbor hopes of chasing down a mammoth 140 in their allotted 10 overs. They needed a brisk start to get anywhere close to the target but that wasn’t to be. They kept losing wickets right from the word go and eventually went down by a massive margin of 76 runs.
