India at Olympics Men's Team Archery updates: India loses to Korea 0-6 in QF

That's the end of the road for India in men's team archery. The Koreans have been on the money. They have been excellent with surgical precision, understood the conditions better and have stomped over India in what can be called a one-sided quarterfinal.

The Indian men's team would take a lot of heart from this performance. These scores, on another day, against another opponent, could have propelled India to the right side of the result, however, against Korea there is nothing much you can do apart from scoring 10s.

Pravin Jadhav would be the biggest take away from the team and the mixed team event. The Indian archer was always touted to be second, behind Atanu Das, but in his debut Olympics, Pravin Jadhav has risen to the occasion in style.

The Indian archer takes good long hauls and has been consistent with his performance with an excellent understanding of the field.

Now it over to the individual performances in archery with the men and Deepika Kumari in action. Can India do better? We will find out in a couple of days time.

India have to pull up their socks. Nothing less than 30 will help India in this time, looking at the way Korea is playing.

But De Jeok and Jinhyek make up for it as they score 10 and 10 to propel Korea to 28, a lead of two points, in what is a crucial set for India.

The response from Korea, for the first time, has been tepid. Woojin manages only 8.

Third set commences. India manages 9, 9 and 8 to total at 26 in the halfway mark.

Korea don't have long hauls. They aim and shoot and it looks like everything goes on the 10-mark. Korea now needs to draw this set to go into the semifinals. India needs to win to stay alive.

Jinhyek gets a 10 too. And it is 29-all.

The Koreans have been extremely calm and they have been on the money. That should rub off on the Indians.

It is without any doubt that India will have to play out of their skin to get the better of Korea.

Kim Je Deok, the 17-year-old prodigy, Kim Woojin and Oh Jinhyek are a formidable team. The Korean men have won the gold medal in archery in the last four Olympic Games, dating back to Sydney Games.

Changes in schedule

There are some changes made to the upcoming schedule of early-round individual eliminations due to a forecasted typhoon.

Extremely high winds and very heavy rain is expected on Tuesday, July 27.

The morning session on July 27 is now delayed and scheduled to begin at 12h00 local time while the afternoon session is cancelled.

The cancelled and the rescheduled matches will now be played on July 28 and July 29.

However, the women’s and men’s finals will be held on July 30 and July 31 as originally scheduled.
