WWE NXT Live Results (September 5, 2023): Becky Lynch challenges Tiffany Stratton for next week and more! Von Wagner and Bron Breakker battle in a No DQ match.

Let's just say that things didn't end well for Von Wagner after losing to Bron Breakker.

Tiffany Stratton defeats Kiana James by pin.
Ilja Dragunov defeats Oro Mensah by pin.
Nathan Frazer defeats Duke Hudson by pin.
Tyler Bate defeats Dabba-Kato by pin.
Mustafa Ali defeats Dragon Lee by pin.
Butch vs. Axiom ends in a Time-Limit Draw.

Bron Breakker defeats Von Wagner by pin.

Breakker rubs salt in the wounds by blasting Wagner with a chair as he recovers. He then smashes Von's head in between the steel steps. The screen goes black as he delivers the blow. Vic is enraged on commentary while Baron Corbin says "I can't believe he did it!"

Von stands on a chair as Bron tries to pick it up. Bron then stands up and spits in Von's face. It sets Wagner off as he blasts Breakker with chair shots and Kendo Stick strikes. Wagner hits a chokeslam for a near fall. Bron then rolls out of the ring in front of the announce table before Von sends him through the set with the big NXT logo on it. Wagner drags Bron in front of the announce table before clearing it off. Bron fights out of it but is sent through the table with a Pop-Up Powerbomb. Von tosses him back into the ring, and he hoists Bron on his shoulders for a move, but Bron hits him with a low blow. He then lands a Spear for the win.
Result - Bron Breakker defeats Von Wagner by pin.

Wagner hits two big boots but Bron catches the third. He drops Von with a powerbomb for a two-count. Bron hits a Bulldog off the top on a steel chair. He locks in a Steiner Recliner with a Kendo Stick but Von powers out of it. The two exchange sweaty meat strikes until Bron hits a gutbuster. He goes for a Spear in the corner but Von moves, causing Bron to hit a chair set up in the corner.

Breakker is in control off the last commercial break. He blasts Von with a Kendo Stick. Von recovers to land some offense but Bron puts a stop to it quickly with an emphatic clothesline for a near fall. Bron picks the Kendo Stick back up to give more punishment to Von.

Bron blasts Von with a chair but Von stops a second shot. Breakker then hits a German Suplex on the outside.

Bron drops Wagner with a shoulder block. The two head over the top rope and in front of the announce table. Von slams Bron's head into the table before tossing him over it. Wagner stands right by Corbin to line the table up. It looked like Corbin was trying not to laugh. Von hits a clothesline to send Bron over the top rope again.

Next week's show is shaping up to be pretty big with Becky Lynch vs. Tiffany Stratton and Wes Lee vs. Ilja Dragunov. There are also two more Heritage Cup Invitational matches.

Baron Corbin joins the desk for the main event.

Tiffany Stratton doesn't seem impressed with Becky's accomplishments despite main-eventing WrestleMania, winning a Royal Rumble, and holding titles for over a year.

Kelani Jordan vents to Lyra Valkyria backstage. Kelani is upset about the loss last week. Dana Brooke comes in to ask why Lyra is here. Brooke mocks Jordan by saying that she thought she'd be coming along faster. She gets territorial about Lyra trying to help Kelani, and it leads Lyra to challenge Brooke.

Gigi Dolin essentially had to fight three people in her match with Thea Hail.

Jacy Jayne accompanies Thea Hail to the ring. Hail works over Gigi's arm early on. The two trade moves until Thea hits a T-Bone Suplex. She goes for offense in the corner but Dolin lands two Question Mark kicks for a near fall. Thea locks in a Kimura submission in the middle of the ring but Gigi breaks it by getting to the ropes. She rolls out of the ring and Thea chases. Gigi sends her into the ring post before hitting an STO on the outside. Jacy distracts the ref and Blair Davenport comes down and blasts Dolin on the outside. Hail locks in the Kimura again, forcing Gigi to tap out.
Result - Thea Hail defeats Gigi Dolin by submission.

Angel and Humberto enter the Diamond Dojo and say they're heading for the titles. D'Angelo and Stacks aren't impressed until Angel decks Tony D. All heck breaks loose as everyone brawls.

Von Wagner cuts a backstage promo thanking a mysterious person for coming into his life. It's actually the announce table.

Butch shakes hands with Axiom after the match. Tyler Bate then comes out to wave to Butch since they have a lot of history as friends and foes in their careers.

Butch whiffs on a moonsault, allowing Axiom to land a kick. Axiom lands the Golden Ratio kick but Buch breaks the pin up with an arm under the ropes. Axiom locks in a near Rings of Saturn submission but Butch bends his fingers back to break the hold. Butch hits the Bitter End but Axiom kicks out.
Result - Butch vs. Axiom ends in a Time Limit Draw.

A two-minute warning is given for the match.

Axiom fights back with a suplex. He goes for a standing moonsault but is caught by Butch. Axiom reaches the rope to break the hold. The two trade counters and submission holds until Butch lands a snap German Suplex. He stomps on Axiom's hands again but Axiom hits some in the ropes. He goes for a move off the ropes but stumbles. Butch kicks him and hits a powerbomb for a two-count.

Butch and Axiom try to pull each other's fingers off. Butch then puts Axiom in a pretzel shape before stomping on his head. He follows up with an X Plex and a Basement Dropkick to Axiom.

Drew Gulak, Charlie Dempsey, and Damon Kemp are training before Myles Borne shows up to do his job. They're mad because he "went behind their backs" when Fallon Henley offered him a spot in a match against those three. They say he will regret doing that but he just wants a match on NXT.

Dom called it down the middle until the end!

Dragunov and Trick Williams have a conversation where Ilja says that he doesn't really think that Trick believes that Melo can beat him again.

Dom holds Ali's hand up until Ali realizes Dom screwed Dragon Lee with the fast count. He decks Dom before apologizing to Lee.

Lee hits a Superkick and a German Suplex with a bridge for a near fall. Ali hits a Jackhammer for a two-count. Lee moves out of the way as Ali goes for the 450 Splash. Lee counters and hits a sit-out powerbomb but Dom makes a slow count. Ali rolls Lee up and Dom counts to three very fast, giving Mustafa Ali the win.

Lee and Ali shake hands before the match. Things are even until Ali lands a Hurricanrana. Lee fights back with a series of kicks. Ali hits a clothesline for a two-count. Lee tosses Ali out and into the announce table. He hits a Suicide Dive to send Ali over it and into Wade and Vic. Lee rolls back into the ring and tells Dom to start the count. Ali hits another clothesline on the outside before hitting a DDT off the top for another close call.

He's called the Big Strong Boi for a reason.

Dom heads out to the ring for his referee spot for the Mustafa Ali/Dragon Lee match. He runs into Carmelo Hayes and says "it's hard being a Champion, isn't it?" Melo doesn't take him seriously. After that, we see the ladies' locker room with Lyra and Roxy watching the screen. They both say they wish Dom wasn't the North American Champion and that Lee and Ali could both beat him. As they're talking, an enraged Kiana James rushes into the locker room and trash-talks Lyra and Roxy. Roxy decks her and the locker room tries to pull them apart.

Bate hits a back elbow and two clotheslines, but they don't phase the big man. He goes for a chokeslam but Bate counters out. He hoists DK on his shoulders for the airplane spin and rotates several times. Bate lands a corkscrew Senton off the top for the upset win.

Tyler Bate looks for revenge on Dabba-Kato. He jumps the big man off the bat. DK drops him with a big boot. He locks in a Cobra Clutch before hitting a pop-up side backbreaker on Bate.

Thea Hail: "I'm a grown woman . . . I just can't drink legally or rent a car."

Lucien Price and Bronco Nima go into the Diamond Dojo, as do Tank and Hank. Lucien and Bronco do their "we're from the streets, so we're better than you" thing before Scrypts arrives.

Frazer "outquicks" the bigger Hudson early on. He sends the big man to the outside, hitting a Tope Con Giro off the top. He sends Duke back into the ring but gets hit with a thunderous Uranage. Duke kneels down to ask Nathan if "he's good" but Frazer punches him. Duke then makes him pay with the Razor's Edge, but Frazer counters it to send Duke into the buckle. He adds a Superkick before hitting the Phoenix splash for the win.
Result - Nathan Frazer defeats Duke Hudson by pin.

Jacy Jayne and Thea Hail are hanging out backstage. Jacy is "influencing" Thea but Gigi Dolin thinks she's taking advantage of her. Blair Davenport comes over and agrees, calling Hail a child. Thea speaks up and says she's a grown woman and can take care of herself. Okay, Thea.

Dominik Mysterio reads over the manual for refereeing a match. He snickers at it but admires the black and purple striped ref shirt that Mami got for him.

Ilja celebrates in the ring until Wes Lee comes out. He says he gets the next shot at Carmelo Hayes and then he'll give Ilja the first shot. Ilja does the same thing as they get close face-to-face. As expected, Melo comes out. He says he's already hung their jerseys in the rafters. He also spoke with Shawn Michaels last week. Melo says that Lee and Ilja will battle it out next week with the winner facing Carmelo Hayes for the NXT title in Bakersfield.

Ilja tries a running powerbomb, but he buckles under the weight. Mensah hits a kick to the head and gets a near fall. He then goes to the corner to mock Ilja, but Ilja hits a jumping Enzuigiri. He lands the Torpedo Moscow to pick up the win. Absolutely shocked that there wasn't any interference.
Result - Ilja Dragunov defeats Oro Mensah by pin.

Seems like a matter of time until some of the Meta-Four interfere. Dragunov did some weird dancing before attacking Oro again. He lands his Constantine Special clothesline, much to the chagrin of Noam Dar. Ilja hits two German suplexes and a modified Uranage for a two-count.

Mensah hits a T-Bone Suplex before the show heads off to commercials.

Ilja controls the pace early on. Mensah hits a standing moonsault for a near fall. He slows things down but Ilja tells him to keep coming from the ground. The two exchange strikes. Ilja tries to do his spinning move through the middle ropes but Mensah hits him with a Superkick.

Can The Man capture the NXT Women's belt next week?

Tiffany Stratton vs. Becky Lynch for the NXT Women's title is made official for next week!

Off the commercial break, Diamond Mine sets up the dojo stuff again since they are reinstated. They "invited" all of the tag teams in NXT to the dojo. Tony D and Stacks join first, followed by Malik Blade and Edris Enofe. The Creeds and Malik/Edris argue, while Stacks and D'Angelo aren't sure the entire tag division can co-exist in the same room.

Stratton made quick work of Kiana James.

As Tiffany Stratton celebrates after the win, Becky Lynch appears on the Titan Tron. She says she's won every title in the company except for "the one hanging around her shoulders." She says that next week, it will be Becky Lynch vs. Tiffany Stratton for the title in the main event.

Stratton makes a blatant attempt to cheat by putting her feet on the ropes for a pin attempt. James does the same by pulling the trunks in front of the ref. James assumes control by grounding the Champ until Tiffany hits a few more moves. The crowd seems to be rooting for Stratton. The two drop each other with clotheslines. Stratton crawls to the corner housing James' loaded bag. She swings it but misses, and James hits the 401K for a near fall. The ref hands the bag to a ringside attendant and Stratton utilizes the distraction to rake Kiana's eyes. She then hits the Prettiest Moonsault Ever for a quick win.

Stratton shows off her athletic skills early on, hitting a flip, a Matrix-esque move as an homage to Trish Stratus, and a kip-up. James does the same thing.
