Brazilian mixed martial artist Amanda Ribas was born on August 26, 1993, in Varginha, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and competes in the UFC strawweight division (115 lbs). Ribas is the daughter of Marcelo Ribas, a martial arts instructor from Brazil. In her younger years, Ribas pursued judo but took some time off from training as she sustained knee injuries. Inspired by her teammates preparing for MMA, she returned to training with new vigor.

Following her win in the 2014 IMMAF World Championship in the Women's Flyweight category, Ribas entered the professional MMA circuit in 2014, predominantly competing in MMA promotions based in Brazil. Before joining the UFC, she compiled a respectable 6–1 record in her professional career.

Ribas was scheduled to lock horns with Juliana Lima at The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale in 2017 but was pulled due to testing positive for Ostarine, a banned substance. She received a two-year suspension, which was later discarded in May 2019, as her positive test result was attributed to a contaminated dietary supplement. She finally made her UFC debut on June 29, 2019, against Emily Whitmire, resulting in a win via a 2nd round rear-naked choke submission.
