Dominick ‘The Devastator’ Reyes, born on December 26, 1989, in Apple Valley, California, is an American mixed martial artist competing in the UFC's light heavyweight division (205 lbs). Known for his powerful striking and finishing ability, Reyes boasts a professional MMA record of 12 wins and 4 losses (12-4-0), with 7 wins by knockout and 2 by submission.

Reyes entered the professional MMA scene in 2014 after an undefeated amateur career. He quickly made a name for himself with his dynamic fighting style and finishing ability. His UFC debut came in June 2017, where he showcased his knockout power by stopping Joachim Christensen in just 29 seconds.

One of Reyes' most notable victories was against former middleweight champion Chris Weidman, whom he defeated by knockout in the first round in October 2019. This win set him up for a title shot against the legendary Jon Jones at UFC 247 in February 2020. Despite a valiant effort and many believing he had done enough to win, Reyes lost the fight via unanimous decision in what is considered one of the most competitive and controversial title bouts in UFC history.

Following the Jones fight, Reyes faced Jan Blachowicz for the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight Championship in September 2020 but was defeated by TKO in the second round. He then fought Jiri Prochaka in May 2021, a back-and-forth battle that earned Fight of the Night honors, but Reyes was knocked out by a spinning back elbow in the second round.

Reyes has faced a challenging period recently, with a 4-fight losing streak, including a knockout defeat to Ryan Spann in November 2022. Despite these setbacks, he remains the #15 ranked light heavyweight contender and is scheduled to fight Dustin Jacoby on June 8, 2024, at UFC on ESPN 57.
