Dricus du Plessis is a South African mixed martial artist who is the current middleweight champion in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He previously competed in the Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC), where he held the titles for both the middleweight and welterweight weight classes.
Since turning pro in 2013, he has also competed for the Polish promotion Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki (KSW). He is a former KSW Welterweight Champion in addition to being a two-time EFC Middleweight Champion and former EFC Welterweight Champion. Du Plessis squared off against Sean Strickland at UFC 297 for the UFC middleweight championship and won the fight via a split decision.
