Following the defeat, Kambosos exercised the rematch clause, leading to a second encounter with Haney on October 16, 2022, at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne. Unfortunately, Kambosos lost yet again, this time via unanimous decision, with the judges scoring the fight 118–110 (twice) and 119–109 in favor of Haney.
