George Kambosos Jr. maintained a perfect record of 19 wins and 0 losses before landing a shot at the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and Ring lightweight titles against Teofimo Lopez on November 27, 2021. After a grueling 12 rounds, the fight was decided on the judge’s scorecard, which adjudged Kambosos Jr. the winner by a split decision.

George Kambosos Jr. squared off against Devin Haney on June 5, 2022, where his newly won titles were on the line. Haney defeated him by a unanimous decision and clinched the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and The Ring lightweight titles from Kambosos Jr. The duo again met each other in a rematch on June 5, 2022, where Haney outclassed Kambosos Jr. by a unanimous decision to keep the titles.

George Kambosos Jr. squared off against Maxi Hughes on July 22, 2023, in his return to the squared circle for the IBO lightweight title. Hughes was defeated by Kambosos Jr. by a majority decision to become the IBO champion.
