Former and current UFC Women's Strawweight Champion Zhang Weili, a Chinese MMA fighter born in 1989, is currently ranked No. 2 in the UFC Women's Pound-for-Pound rankings.
Zhang debuted in the UFC in 2018 and defeated Jéssica Andrade to claim the title of women's strawweight the following year. She became the organization's first-ever Chinese champion.
Zhang reclaimed the UFC Women's Strawweight Championship title after a second-round rear-naked choke against Carla Esparza at UFC 281 in November 2022. Weili received the Performance of the Night award and received a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu promotion to Brown Belt.
Zhang Weili squared off against Yan Xiaonan at UFC 300 by putting her strawweight title on the line. She won the match by a unanimous decision and retained her championship.
