Since his professional debut in professional mixed martial arts in 2012, Israel Adesanya has witnessed a meteoric rise in the game by dominating the middleweight division in the world's leading professional mixed martial arts promotion, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). A flamboyant fighter filled with a distinct charisma and flashy fighting style, Adesanya quickly became one of the sport's most entertaining and leading stars. Ever since his debut in professional mixed martial arts, Israel Adesanya has fought in various fight promotions before finding his way into the UFC. Owing to his successful fight campaign with a record of 12 clinical victories and 0 losses, Adesanya made his debut in the UFC in 2018. He rapidly went through the division and finally landed a shot at the UFC interim middleweight title against Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 236.

He won the fight by outclassing Gastelum via a unanimous decision to win the interim title, which he unified in his next bout against Robert Whittaker at UFC 243. Israel Adesanya made a dominant statement by knocking Whittaker out in the second round, thus starting his dream run in the middleweight division of the UFC before losing his belt in 2023.
